  1. Anyone know a specialty shop to mod up a normally aspirated 1990 300ZX on the East Coast? Something like a Stillen, but on this side of the country.
  2. Thanks for posting the pics Sean. Your car looks great. Nice seeing Mike McGinnis (Banzai Motorworks), Eiji (Datsun Spirit), Peter, you, Beth and others from Classic Z. Nice seeing Eiji's new girlfriend Janine too.....Germany and Japan reunited. Another great East Coast show.
  3. Stupid question......Oil in the carbs? 3 in One or a light 20 weight. Also make sure you're nozzles aren't stuck in the open position after choking the engine....put your hands directly under each carb and push up on the nozzle.
  4. Install the Ron Tyler Mount......you may have to modify it for the early converted cars, but it works like a charm.
  5. Thanks Stanley.....I ran the hoses through the firewall and plugged 'em inside with hard plastic plugs. At least it looks like it's hooked up when looking in the engine bay.
  6. Thanks Jim.......I've got a brand new valve, but the screws holding the old valve just won't come out. I don't really need heat, so if it's the same effect as shutting off the valve, I'm happy to keep 'em plugged.
  7. My heater valve on my 71 was so bad that I plugged each of the 2 hoses that go through the fire wall (I don't need heat in Virginia). My question is..... Is blocking them off OK or should I connect the two with a tube so the water continues through the hoses and back into the engine? Is it better one way or the other as far as engine cooling is concerned?
  8. Jeff.....Where did you get your numbers to do the P79 conversion you did. Was this something that was proven engineering or did you do this on your own using trial and error. Why don't you do a thread with your numbers....I know you have photos. How much did you shave off and why? Etc. Etc.
  9. Make sure the choke linkage isn't stuck under each carb. Reach under each carb and push each nozzle upward. A stuck choke makes for a miserable idle and is fairly common in the Hitachi carbs. If one or both are stuck, your plugs should be black.
  10. Well Kudos for making the right choice.....they really set your silver car off......beautiful car....and the white box is nice too!
  11. Zedy.....Are those Panasports on your Z? Good choice old boy......much nicer than the other brand you had on it before! IMO
  12. The backside is correct.....probably works either way, but FSM has it hooked on the back so the little short end comes up in the center of the loop....IMO
  13. The only thing I see is the end of the mousetrap spring should be coming out of the center of the anchor spring not down through the center and a little wear on the timing chain. I give Blue....fill us in.
  14. If you think of the silver and burgundy Singer 911 you are getting what I am saying. But I will definitey ask for samples as your requested bud. Thanks for the good advice. .......and the Singer 911 is only $350,000.00. Go ahead Stephen....one would look great in your garage!
  15. The 260 fits fine.....it is a three row instead of a two row and it doesn't have the little medal hood over the fan, but you can take the metal hood off of the 240 radiator and have it braised on the 260 radiator. It'll work fine Wael. Guy
  16. Always fun to see the transport pull up to unload! Almost like Xmas only better. I've bought 5 without seeing the actual car in the flesh. Never been disappointed yet......the car looks great....I'm sure it'll be a good experience for you Zedy. I'm happy for you!
  17. Ozzy.....I've got the perfect vanity plate: SWZCHZ as in Swiss Cheese. :stupid:
  18. Your mechanical fuel pump (if you have one) can be the culprit.....check to see if you have any wet oil around the shaft seal......that can wear out and drip oil.
  19. Anyone ever use this product? Tires and wheels are so important in making a car look good. I recently got a spray bottle of EnviroTireShine as a giveaway at a Z car show. Usually you get stuff that just plain sucks at car shows. I gave it a try and it really gives tires a deep dull natural shine......awesome. My guess is that it hasn't been marketed correctly........just wondering if anyone else agrees. It's environmentally friendly which doesn't mean zip to me, but the results are amazing!
  20. Eiji's meeting me at my house at 8:30......we'll drive up route 5 past all the James River plantations, through Jamestown and Williamsburg and on to Hampton to the Pilati Car Show.
  21. Hi Arnie......I've had 2 911's and one 912.....always came back to the Datsuns cause they were so much easier to work on. There is a special feeling to driving the 911, sound and smell looking over that invisible hood and those VDO gauges. The rear engine is very cool also....makes the front end so responsive. Good to hear from you again. BTW....eggshell is my favorite color on the 911....don't think they made many in that color. Guy
  22. You can still buy each from Nissan new for a couple bucks each........
  23. Welcome to the multiple Datsun club Stephen. That looks like a really nice 2000!
