  1. Great choice on the color....,,why wouldn’t you buy the Atlanta car....looks like a steal! Love my 918 Z. So does the Hungarian blonde!
  2. MY1PATH.....I assure you that your SU’s are adequate to supply your motor build. I run them on my Datsun Spirit Stroker Stage III motor with no problems throughout the power ban. I would not be so sure that carbs are your problem. I just fixed a high speed bog problem with new plugs (who would have thunk it?) I tried everything first.....points, condenser, tuned carbs etc. A new set of plugs and she kicks it again! Sometimes the little caps on your spark plugs can loosen causing a high rpm miss, or a cracked distributor cap or rotor. A vacuum leak can make it miss and run lean also. On a modified engine, you should probably be 3 1/2 turns down. It’s fun when you solve a problem......good luck.
  3. Careful what you start Brandon......
  4. ZCCOR#109......I was at Road Atlanta also in 1970.....we looked over the fence at the top of the Esses. Probably one of the most exciting times of my life when I saw the Datsuns screaming through the Esses after the parade lap. I too went out and purchased my first (1970) Z after I saw John blow away the competition. John should get a commission for every Nissan I’ve bought since......and it’s been a lot! BTW....I was also at this year’s Mitty. Regards Guy

Take the head to a machine shop and have it magnafluxed. If it’s a deteriated water jacket, maybe it can be welded, otherwise it has to be a crack in the block. Either way, it ain’t going to buy you time unless it’s repaired. Losing a gallon of water ain’t a small problem.........it’s a terminal problem. Still can’t imagine how you lose that much water without a trace! I’ll stay tuned.

Still doesn’t tell you where the water is going......I’d get me a used L18......fully counter balanced crank and a little more pop! Send your motor over the “Datsun Rainbow Bridge!”
  7. Woody’s buddies were giving him some friendly ribbing after your podium finish.....”well at least now you know it’s not the car Woody!” Guy
  8. It was fun to watch you drive Woody’s car Greg.....looks like ya’ll had the fastest lap in the Enduro....too bad about the tranny leak. Sam and Walter were proud puppies to see the 85 car on the podium...4 National Champions there...that was special. What a blast it was!
  9. 4 Z National Championships on that podium.....that’s John Morton walking up to pick up his third place trophy.
  10. Hi Steve...I’m not on Face Book, if you could, I’d love to see those shots and any of the 85 car. BTW, I haven’t heard....how did Woody and Greg finish? Enjoyed seeing you again....super weekend and so nice to meet Charles and Cody. Guy
  11. Couple videos....BAT Z. 95E40F75-239B-47D7-A32C-5C57727B8D54.MOV 7684907E-C50E-4FBC-B257-03273AF6D9C8.MOV
  12. Charles....Yes, me and Eiji are caravaning down together tomorrow. Let’s all hang out at the track. We’ll be making the rounds....really look forward to meeting you.
  13. “Video is nice too”. Yes Steve....how about some video with motor noise.
  14. I love the tires....how about a better pic of the tread. BTW, what’s the story on how you got them? See you Saturday.
  15. You better believe it Charles. A Stage III Isky regrind is what I would install. You’ll need new lash pads, new or remanufactured rockers and the cam. Believe me, it’ll be the best investment you can make. I have a brand new Isky Stage II regrind I’ll part with for $200.00 plus shipping if you or anyone else wants it. PM me if you are interested. All 5 of my cars run Stage III Isky regrinds. Guy
  16. $7,850.00......That’s for the 3.1 Stroker motor.....you provide the crank. Check out his website for the various motor build prices.
  17. Wow Steve.....Doesn’t look anything like the car I saw in Savannah! Nice!!!
  18. I like the torquey 3.1 liter, 7500 rpm screamer that goes “rumpety-rump!”
  19. Free is a good deal at twice the price! Hope to see you there.
  20. Just Saturday. I’ll get there at 10am and leave at 7:30pm. I’m gonna be at my friend Woody Staub’s paddock till he races at 1:40. He’ll be near Greg Ira’s tent.....he races the number 22 car plus a new A Production 280Z powered car. After Woody races, I’m heading up to the Datsun tent in the infield. How about you? What’s your schedule? Guy
  21. Sounds like fun. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Road Atlanta!
  22. Picked up the new Stroker today....my good friend Eiji buttoning up new engine. He’s amazing! Now to put her in the green 72.

Hey Jim....You need professional help....that car is “fat, but it’s ugly!”
  24. Blue....The rear side seals are easy if you 1) Apply sealant sparingly as shown in the factory service manual. 2) Align the rear bearing cap (with sealant applied, but no side seals yet). 3) pull down the rear bearing cap until you are 3/4” from bottoming 4) install each side seal and push all the way down till it bottoms out against the block. 5) pull down the rear bearing cap with the two bolts until it bottoms out. 6) Torque all bottoms end caps sequentially (starting in the middle and working out) until torque specs are met. This will pull down the side seals securely without creating a blockage by pushing the side seals against the sealant. Finally, put a small dab of sealant on the top of the side seals before installing the pan. Guy
  25. Not sure about the gasket.....Regarding the number one lobe, I’m sure that’s just break in compound (lol). The cam is a brand new Isky regrind.
