  1. aOOH YEAH First time an old lady walked up on her way into a store, smiled and said "NICE CAR!" I smiled back with my shades on and felt HAPPY :)
  2. What Tire do you guys recommend for a 17x7 wheel? I'm not sure what would fit but I saw a rim and tire combo package that comes with a 205/40/17 tire with the above rim size. on the Calculator in post #1 I put 195/60/14 as stock 215/60/14 as what I have now 205/40/17 for the wheel tire combo When I press compare tire sizes button it says, "WARNNING, when changing tire sizes we recommend staying within 3% of the original tire size, any more than that and you risk BREAK FAILURE!" Also I've been trying to find this thing called "The Wheel Tool" on the net which I saw advertised in a car mag within the last month. Cost about $20 bucks, It said you can put this on in place of your wheel and test offset, Rim Size and Backspace clearance. And with the "loop" thingy you can simulate the tire size also to help you order the correct rims ahead of time / the first time. Anyone heard or seen that yet, I've been trying to find it?
  3. Heh I found a cool website for tire sizes! Type in the stock size tires, compare them to what you have on and then compare those to the rim and tire size you'd like to have I found that the 205/40/17 rims I''ve been wanting are appearently too big. Well give it a check, heres the weblink http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit Tire Size Calculator ~Z~
  4. There you go , that last sentace right there makes since. Why not try it and she what it brings? Maybe you'll be surprised :rambo:
  5. Sorry to hear that Don't frame rails usually come up on Ebay for a houndred or so, if that helps with the cost? The other side is you can spec it out and make a really cool Hot Rod/Street Racer Z that could be worth all the additional money you put imto it if it's possible and you got the time. NO? ~Z~
  6. I'm ready to tackle this but I one quick question, should I slap on the Intake/Exhaust gasket now and see how she runs or should I wait and take the head off now and risk strippingt/breaking the valve cover bolts in half? I was trying to take a Valve Cover off one the tow yard Z's and all of the bolts broke in half and the last one was so stuck it rounded off. I'm not sure if I want to risk that with my Z trying to get to the head yet. I have now problem having to take the FI rails off again if I do need to and removing the the Head since I still plan on getting the HKS head gasket anyway. Just thought I get some of your opinions on this since it came to my mind today. Heading out some time in the morning to finish the job ~Z~
  7. At least 1 to 3 a day! I was crusing down a long stretch of road, with the music off and windows down, to my cusins house. Sunglasses on, clickin 40 or so, I looked in my drivers side view and saw a Orange project 280Z bout 5 car lengths behind me. I gave him the thumbs up and he thumbed back. Since it was just us two I felt like I was in the '70's ~Z~

    YEP !, those the BAGS
  16. Thyanx Maddos I was told having no Thermostat would let the collant run to fast through the radiator not giving it enough time to cool off befor returning to the engine. I'm guesing someone thought it was stuck and took it out thinking that was the problem like you said aswell. But you are right though, 2 3rds cylinders does not an inline six make. I had two plugs come loose one morning ontop of this and boy did I feel like Grandma. After pluggin back up, was back to normal. Either way I'm shooting the PO who sold her to me in the leg and asking for a refund, AND I'm keeping the car No, seriously, ... if I ever see 'em in the street theres gonna be a fight :cheeky: Well good news is when I buy another Z I know what to look for :cross-eye ~Z~

  20. Well to answer your question #6 FI Port is completly blocked and the Spark Plug is Whitish Grey as you say it would look for #6. Spark Plug numbers 1 through 5 are Black almost like charchol with a little Oil on them also :errm:. FI Ports 1 through 5 are getting as much gas as the hole would allow in the 2nd picture of post #7. She ran, but in all honesty it really sounds like a truck on shut off but F1 race car like when Reving the engine. All in all it sounds pretty normal when driving over all, but rough. I know I know wierd huh :tapemouth Getting to the meat and potatas, the Timming I was told was WAY advanced and the Idle Screw I believe is set to REALLY RICH obviously to componsate for the like of both gas and air on the intake from the wrong gasket being used. Idle is set at around 1,100 to 1,300 RPM using the Idle screw. Was Over heating really bad and only took about 20 minutes befor she Redlined on the heat making me pull over and park. So I wne to Change the Thermostat and lo and behold there wasn't one in the housing to begin with which was causing the overheating. After installing the new Thermostat she would claim to normal temp of 180 degrees then hit 200 degrees where the Tempeture needle would drop back down to the halfway mark on the temp gauge. Efectively solving my overheating a few days untill the last time I drove her where the Temp went to Redlne and stayed there just 5 minutes befor I got back home. One of the PO's changed the AFM, Throttle Body, and Oil or Water Pump (can't remember witch but I Have the parts which were in the hatch along with a Victoria British catolog) I believe this was the same PO who had the Interior redone with all new vinyle, headliner, Car Repainted with engine and tranny out, body work down proffesionally from top to underside, and also had the Engine rebuilt by Marysville Machine Shop. I'm not sure if the Machine Shop actually reassembled the engine or not but it seems the PO was trying to figure out what was wrong with it and gave up parking the car in his garage for 2 years. Who ever it was still put on the wrong Intake/Exhaust gasket but if it was the shop it lived up to it's namesake, Sorryville Machine Shop, just like the city it's in  I should know more once I get the head off but I'm not sure what I would find. I already Cracked the EGR tube halfway through trying to unbolt it from the Intake and Exhaust manifold. The upper 2 bolts are moving but they don't seem to be going either up or down when turning them counter clockwise. Using Vice Grips and a Hammer to turn them cause they won't move by hand, hence the crack Going back in a day or so to finally get the Manifolds off and maybe get the head done in the same day. The new correct Intake and Exhaust Gasket should of arrived at my friends house but I'll need to order a new Head Gasket while I'm at it so I'm looking at the HKS version from MSA. I figure I might aswell replace this and look at the head now or risk still having problems and having to do this work all over again. Sheesh.... :hurt: :rambo: ~Z~ Man Up!
  21. Sue and make an example. !
  22. Sorry .. Also note the Code works for any image from any website as long as you lnow the image addreas. To find the addreas left click on the image, look under properties and you'll see the address. When copying it make sure you get the whole thing cause sometimes there is more than 2 lines of informotion when cut and pasting the address.
  23. Awesome idea for a thread rdefabri. Here tips from me. What ever you do don't pay those ridiculous Ebay fees for listing more than 1 picture in your auction. I remember being able to get 3 pictures for free if I'm correct, but now you only get 1 free pic with .15 cents for each adittional. I use Photobucket to host all of my images and then use a HMLT Code (Hot Mail) to add pictures to my auctions for free Heres how it works and the links to each step. ~1 Go to Photobucket.com and sign up for an account. http://photobucket.com/ ~2 Go to your auction description where you would type the description and switch it from "Normal" view to "HTML". At this point the description section of the listing will switch into HTML mode whitch is a type of computer code for those who don't know, but don't worry cause it's all in English and not 0's and 1's like computer programming. The HTML code for pictures is IMG SRC="next.jpg" set in between these 2 symbols < and > . Had I typed this code the correct way above it shows up as a box with an X cause there is no image linked to it yet such as this one below. <IMG SRC="next.jpg"> Take his HTML code and cut and paste it at the top of the descrpition as many times as you have pictures. Then take the Photobucket Direct Link address of your photo and paste it between the two perenthesis (" ") of the HTML Code above. For example your code should look like this typed, IMG SRC="http://classiczcars.com/images/z_sketch.jpg" once again set between these symboles < AND >. And appear as this. <IMG SRC="http://classiczcars.com/images/z_sketch.jpg"> You can go back to Normal view and drag and drop your pictures around according to how you want them in your auction description. Your free ebay picture can be used as you Gallery image and with your Ebay picture setup on "photos on bottom" it will be the last pic out of the way of your other photos Note this paticular code works for JPEG format images only as far as I know but could work for GIFS and others. ~3 All of your auctions should come out looking like this for example. Notice how many pictures I have on my auction and all of them are free thyanx to Photobucket and a small bit of HTML Code Auction example link click here! To sum it up. You can resize your images on Photobucket's website to whats called "forum" size. The Pics in my example auction are this size and are the 100% full size I set them for on Photobucket whitch the HTML Code will automaticly use. So be sure to resize you pics to a resonable size so they don't show up humongous. Increments of 25%, 50% and 100% when resizing work best to not make your pictures become pixalated Also when taking pics treat it like artwork and remember "Composition" and good clear shots with good descriptions. Heres a link that describes some HTML Codes in further detail. Do some reseach for other HTML codes on how to add music and such and creating other kinds of links http://www.pageresource.com/html/image3.htm ~Z~
  24. I don't know, looks like a paint and body job to me. The paint says 20,000 but the engine says 10 :bandit:
  25. I get you, the Rat Rod look. Or in todays terms, Street Racer
