  1. Thanks everyone ?
  2. Can someone explain the real world difference in engine operation using the different heat range spark plugs. How and when would you know which heat range your particular engine is wanting?
  3. @Pop's Z I'm curious if you are running ethanol blend gas or non ethanol blend gas?
  4. So this is slightly related since an engine is an engine. I work at an aircraft piston engine overhaul shop and a couple of years ago our engine test cell was rented out to an investigation team looking in to the effects ring gap has on horsepower. The short story is that even at an inch of ring gap the horsepower stayed constant...it smoked worse than a diesel though!
  5. Same...what is M of f?
  6. Permatex #2 would be a good choice to seal the fittings without having to overtighten them.
  7. Ok, so silly question, but what exactly are you attaching the choke cables to? Wasn't the needle removed along with the dome and piston?
  8. What tape would y'all recommend?
  9. Have you powdered over jbweld before? I was under the impression the powder wouldn't flow over it, or are you hot spraying?
  10. I sent you an email Jim, thanks!
  11. I'll try calling them Monday.
  12. I'm in need of the two phenolic carb spacers (without coolant passage). Motorsport auto is out of stock, zcar Depot and ztherapy don't have any listed on their websites.

    I'm looking for a Datsun/Nissan (not Subaru) r180 in 354, 390, or 411 ratio. (first preference is a 390 or 411) I'm located in Colorado, 81401
  14. @zKars, I received the horn button and mirror today. They look great. Thanks!!!
  15. Thanks for the reply, I emailed you.
  16. I am looking for a chrome 240z driver's side rear view mirror. I have a 240z steering wheel, I am looking for a horn pad and installation hardware. I will attach a pic of what I have, I am not really sure what I need in addition to the horn pad. These are going on an early, thin bumper 260z. Thanks
  17. I completely agree, and as I said, I have never had a problem with my application process. Future buyer can buy with confidence.
  18. That is not caulk, it is RTV 102 adhesive. Removable if the buyer is concerned about it. As far as powder coating the inside, I have been applying powder coat to the inside of valve covers over ten years now and have never had a problem with it flaking off including multiple aircraft engines with 2000 hours logged. (I powder coated the valve cover for carbuilder723)
  19. You are right...sorry....
  20. You will have to open up one of the shift fork holes and relocate the reverse switch boss on your four speed bell housing. I just did this with a 86 200sx tranny except I used a five speed bell housing I had laying around.
  21. Hi Jeff, my son and I are still greatly enjoying your builds. One question though, after grinding on your rods to balance them are you planning on doing any kind of stress relief like polishing or bead blasting?
  22. Yes! Thank you. That was what I was looking for.
  23. So I have owned several (8) 240s, 260s, 280s throughout my life and have a pretty good handle on them as far as pricing and where to go for information on them. There is a 1969 roadster 2000 on my local Craigslist that I've been eyeing for a while. I have no idea what current values are, where to get parts, what should be done first...you know, all the good articles and threads we find here on Classic. Does anyone know of a trusted form or whatever that a roadster guy should look in to? https://westslope.craigslist.org/cto/d/1969-datsun-roadster-2000/6596954244.html
  24. 240260280, I keep seeing those pictures of norms mod but I can't find a write-up on it anywhere. Does anyone have more info on it?
