  1. It's been way too long since my last update, I've been very busy. I thought I should at least share some pics.
  2. To do it right you will at a minimum have to reset the timing with a timing light. This is not a hard job mechanically but if you try to take shortcuts don't expect good results...
  3. Looks like both pieces are in there. I bet the copper wire in there is worth more than both little bits you are after. I looked at Stamps.com but did not care for their terms of service. I'll just stick with the Post Office.
  4. I have been saving a lot of money on shipping since I started using Stamps.com. I had no idea that using them, I could get much better than over the counter shipping rates. All I did was create an account, and fund it with like $50. I put in the address, dimensions and weight of the package (box or padded envelop), print out the label and drop off at a UPS store. I bet shipping a horn would be less than $8. Anyway, I managed to lose one of these red washers: And, I'd like another of these black plastic parts. However, both are only accessible after drilling out the rivets and they are easily damaged if you are not careful. I'd rather pay for the shipping and do that part myself.
  5. Oh my, you have been busy - and in secret all these months! Fantastic job, beautiful car. Congrats on an outstanding effort.
  6. That's a good one.. Obviously there is something very wrong with that engine and i think it needs to come completely apart to find it.. maybe a crack in the cylinderwalls or so i don't know, all i know that jalex needs a good technician who is familiar with the L24..
  7. Tools: Rivets: note diameter and length. I can send you some rivets as I have many to spare.
  8. Asking the question different ways isn't going to change my answer... There are 2 positions where the motor is at TDC in a cycle! You need the position where the two cam lobes on the first cylinder are pointing upwards and not pushing on the valves. The timing pointer on the crankshaft pulley should be pointing to the first mark on the the pulley. With all the spark plugs out you should be able to rotate the engine with a ratchet. You can verify the piston is all the way up by looking in the spark plug hole or using a screwdriver to feel the top of the piston. The dizzy should be pointing at the #1 spark plug in the dizzy cap. Remove the dizzy and replace with the new one...
