well its been a while since ive updated this, so here goes all new front end parts, including ball joints, struts, upper bearing, tie rod ends, springs, polyurethane bushings and compression rod parts. everything was sandblasted and painted with black epoxy new toyota calipers and aluminum splash shields. the originals were gone, so i made some up at work. the aluminum is a little too thick, so the hubs rub just a tiny bit but that should go away as the hub wears the aluminum. new compression rod parts and cover
  2. Well I stood my ground and said my way or the highway, he chose the highway. I was going to cancel the transaction but that would have left a black mark on my sellers record and some negative feedback from him so I filed a non-payment claim so the 4 days would elapse and ebay would cancel the transaction and I would be free and clear. As soon as he saw the non payment claim against him he turned around 180 degrees, met all of my terms, sent me the full payment with no attitude. As much as I think Simon in Denmark would have been a better owner, I really didn't have any justification not to sell it to bidder #1. So he is the new owner, TFX transport will pick up the car in a few days. Just like to thank you guys for the great advice, it allowed me to stand back and see the big picture. I have sold lots of cars and bikes before but never over ebay and I found the whole thing to be a very stressful experience, even intimidating. Thanks, Chris
  3. Thinking about going . Might be the only show I make this year. 6 hour drive isn't bad either. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club
  4. I drove my Orange 240Z 900km from my home to my mother's home. It has got a an automatic transmission, the trip was so easy and I loved it very much. Everyone may think the auto transmission is not desirable, less sportiness , less joy of driving . Yes I know what people are saying and I was the one who was thinking the same way without experience driving the auto transmission of S30. Unless you are at a circuit , you will be happy with the automatic transmission 240Z. I must say my 240Z is keeping preserved condition and mechanically maintained very well. Kats
  5. Replaced all my weathered front & rear bumper rubber with new OEM nissan,
  6. Today, I completed the return of my R-180 4:11 diffy and speedo cog. I tried a 3:54 for fewer highway rpms, but lost my great power band. I had to shift a lot more in the twisties, but the killers were the front seal leaked, and it whined at speed even with Red-Line gear lube. So out with the new and in with the old. Driveshaft nuts/lockwashers have to be the worst job for old fingers to do. I really need an articulated forefinger. Next project: remove and repair front fenders. Cheers, Mike

  8. Finished my new parts shed......the one on the right. She'll hold 8 engines, 6 trannies and a whole lot of fenders and other parts. Wanted to get all that stuff out of the garages
  9. Awesome. Car looks great and I'm glad I could participate in this secret project! My kid had me chained to his car (not a Subaru, but a Hyundai Tiburon) in an effort to keep me working on it, but he underestimated my lock picking skills. When he left for school, I picked the lock, shed the chains, and snuck out of the garage and into the shop where the lathe is to cut some lug nuts. As for the kid's car, I'm trying to have him do whatever he's capable of. I did all the delicate valve work, but he's doing a lot of the work. And for an update on progress... I've got all the valves back in the head, the head back on the car, and we started it first time yesterday. Runs great!! Couple small issues to deal with, but it's alive!!! This pic is close to the beginning of the job before we pulled the head. Here he is doing a little wrench turning while my Z sits neglected in the background:
