I may have something for you, will check later today.

I have a couple of nice ones, will get a shipping box and get one out to you.

If your car is the early style you would want the box without the cold air flap / heat riser.

At what vin was the change over?

I am not exactly sure of the pinpoint VIN number change but I expect it would be at the transmission change (A to B) in mid 71.

If you have the heat riser on the exhaust manifold that would be a good indicator.

CPM says 06/72 was the change over.

This one shows mid 71 which I am more inclined to believe. The transmission change came with a lot of other changes.

In the interim I'd be glad to have any without big rust holes in it

Sounds like Jim is your man then Charles.

I think my early ones are more dented than rusted.

@Patcon Charles, this style is a match for mine - original to my car. Pretty sure the heat riser was added several months prior to our builds.

Jim

Picture on the bottom right shows the 1981-83 (Higher) filter for 280zx, but for as far i know it only had 2 bolts! the older (flatter) one had 3 bolts..
