Im planning on buying a kit to rebuild the brake booster in my 1972 240z. Any reliable kits and how difficult is the reman process?

I bought a kit from Harmon Brakes in Georgia. You need some specialize tools to get the booster disassembled and reassembled

It might be more cost effective to send it to Power Brake Exchange.

Thanks. I live outside the US. Getting such booster into the US will pay an import tax.isnt there any shop that can sell me one instead of doing the exchange?

You will need special tools to do a brake booster; outlined in the service manual, which should tell you what a rebuild entails. I sent mine to https://www.powerbrakebooster.com/ Power Brake Booster exchange in Washington. They did a nice job for me.
