Oh right that happened to me as well so I coated the rubber seal and the door frame it rests on with some light lithium grease so the seal slipped pass area that it wants to hang up on, I had to reach down to that area from inside the car with long knife and once the seal was sitting properly close the door and leave it that way for a couple of days.

Made that, 1" dia Oak dowel with a hole drilled in the center and a threaded metal insert epoxied inside. I made it on a lathe but it could easily be made on a drill press too.

And she's off to a new owner - I hope.  I know I know, I should just keep her and enjoy it.  But I'm not a collector and I'm hankering for a new project.

Good luck.  I predict a big number.  Nice driving video, I think I saw a 56 Chevy.  That's a good sign!

You did a great job with that build, Chris.  We all knew that you could cut and weld, but the paint job that you pulled off on the 510 in that small garage was truly impressive.

It will be interesting to see what kind of price it brings.  As they say on BaT, 'GLWTS'.

I might strip the ///MZ down to the metal and do the paint properly this time, I was happy with it when it was first done and it has only been a few years and it is already showing flaws from poor prep.
