This car is either mis-listed as a '71, or some '71s came with hatch vents and '70 sail panel emblems, but I am certainly no expert on early Zs. Anyway...

This car is a Series 1. They were produced until about mid-January 1971, all had the flow-thru air on the hatch and the 240Z "Wings" emblem on the "C" pillar. Beginning about September or October of '70, the cars were titled as 1971's. Estimates range from about 16,000 cars to perhaps 19,000 cars as Series 1's. My car with a 12/1970 build date is titled as a '71. The listing does not provide the VIN for confirmation

Another thing that makes me nervous about the listing is the zero feedback of the seller.

Looks remarkably similar to mine, even down to the turbo mirrors. Personally I'm not a fan of the pinstripes or slotted mags but to each his own. I'm interested to see what it goes for.

Just noticed it's missing the dark rear plates, those will be a necessary addition for the next owner. It looks weird without them.

They would have a lot better luck if they posted detailed pics of the interior, underhood, and under body. It's a fresh paint job, and the jambs weren't done.

Just an observation, but shouldn't the rear panel be mat grey or something. Seems they sprayed right over it.
