Before and almost after...

Featured Replies

Good effort John.I bought my 72 240 11 years ago, and it clocked over to zero when I drove it home. I can still remember 10 years ago, after a major overhaul, inside and out, on my car, putting it all back together and firing it up for the first time in 12 months. I very nearly wept with joy, after all the hard work. Apart from some clutch issue which was my fault, my car hasn't let me down in 25000 miles.

They tend to become a loved family friend.

Hope you have years of enjoyment from yours.

That is an awesome car! I do have engine bay in different colour, maybe I'll change back to Limegreen instead of painting it orange...

So glad to see you bringing this classic back to its original 920 gold. Awesome effort! FYI - HLS30-01228 lives just up the road from me in Plano TX, is also 920 gold and is going thru its own restoration to original (my car is also 920 gold).

Excellent, John!

This is when it pays off, all the hard work and time you put into it.

You get to the point where it's frustrating because you can't see the end, just the light at the end of the tunnel.

But then you get in the seat and take a spin and all of a sudden the time and frustration just disappears.

Keep going!

Thanks for all the kind comments. I still have a lot to do but being able to drive it makes me want to get it done even more.

I will post some more pics as I make progress.

Wow John, outstanding work. Your Z really came out nice. I know it's going to be hard, but try and make it by the forums once in a while. The Z is going to consume all your free time.... :)

Great Job!!

Great looking car! very stock (I love that), and great color. Looking forward to more pics.

Thanks guys. Not as nice as yours Rich but I am getting there. I knew you'd like the color too.
