I'm going to check out some used wheels someone is selling locally for cheap on craigslist. I"m leaning towards the set that looks like snowflakes or the non-gold ones. any suggestions? here's the link below.

The offset doesn't look right from those photo's. Ask him what the offset is before going any further.

Hmmm...doubtful any of them were used on a 300ZX. The 300's were equipped with 5 lug wheels. Maybe he meant a 280ZX?

I ended up getting the snowflake design. He had them on a 510. the specs are:14X5.5 4X114.3 +27 offset, their alot lighter than my iron cross rims.

You still have an offset issue. You should be using between zero and maybe +10 at most. As a 5.5" wide rim, they will be tucked way in with +27 offset.

If there was any 300 that did, it may heve been the first year. I'll look into this.

All 84 and 85 non-turbos came with 4 lugs, with turbos getting 5 lugs. 5 lug became standard in 86.
