    MikeW,

    Thanks for offering to create the database. I have also had trouble submitting information to the Zhome website.

    There's already a database for Aussie and NZ cars at www.wazcars.com.

    http://www.wazcars.com/index.php?action=anziregister

    If any Australian or NZ people would like to enter their date, please go ahead.

    I could make a separate register for the USA and Canada if you like.

    P.S. if anyone in australia has car GRS30-011546 I know somone with your original Warranty and Service Booklet.(Included is a Credit Card type ID Card, with the cars details on it) for sale. He'd love to reunite it with the car.

    And mine is

    1972 240Z HS30-10527

    Mite as well put mine on. Its a pretty low number compared to most of yours!

    But its a 260z 2+2 so it is in a bit of a different feild :nervous:

    6/75 GRS30-005545. It would have been in the 'deceiced' file if anyone else bought it though :cry: Restoration is coming along fine!

    Mine is HLS30-434056 (brown/Brown)

    I think it should be HLS30A-434056 because it has an automatic transmission. According to the serial number, it's supposed to be a ZX? (got the serials from the 'Datsun Z club.')

    I wonder if your VIN accurately describes your car?

    FYI -- If you didn't know, you can't run your S30 VIN through the CARFAX system because it will only accept a 17-digit VIN, which didn't start until the late 70s/early 80s. :(

    thx

    TomoHawk-aint no A in the s30 vin-check your FSM!

    "240Z * 260Z * 280Z

    G H L S30 ######

    Blank = Coupe

    G = 2+2

    H = L24 Motor for 240Z

    R = L26 Motor for 260Z

    H = L28E Motor for 280Z

    L = Left Hand Drive

    Blank = Right Hand Drive

    S30 = Car Model Number

    ##### = Serial Number

    280ZX (Up to 2/1981)

    H G S130 ######

    Blank = Coupe

    H = L28E Motor

    G = 2+2 Model

    S130 = Car Model Number

    ######= Serial Number

    280ZX (from 3/81-6/83)

    JN1 H Z0 4 S * D X ######

    JN1 = Nissan Passenger Veh"icle

    H = Non-Turbo L28E or VG30DE-someone across the pond verify this option please all USA 280Zxs were delivered with an L series engine.

    C = Turbo L28ET or VG30DET

    Z0 = S130 Car Model for 280ZX

    4 = Coupe 6 = 2+2

    * = Check Digit (0-9 or x)

    B = 1981 280zx

    C = 1982 280zx

    D = 1983 280zx

    There were several letters in there. According to the Haynes book AND THE FSM:

    GHLS30 [1] [2] [3] [4] ######

    [1]

    F = 5-spd gearbox

    A = auto trans

    (blank = 4 spd

    [2]

    U = North American model (U.S.A and Canada)

    [3]

    N = Canada model

    V = California emmissions/spec

    (blank) = fed. spec

    [4]

    C = Air conditioning

    So mine should have been HLS30AUC 434056

    It must have been one of the last 280Zs made. :) I winder what the serial number of the LAST 280Z was?

    thx
