For the seats with the turn knob lumbar support, originally did these come with the knobs by the center console or should the knob be seen as you enter the car. My mind is playing tricks on me.

Hello all, I replaced my door weather stripping that I purchased from MSA about 5 months ago. The one that seals completely around the door. The passenger side door now opens and closes like it should. The driver side however is still really tight. Harder to open and close. I have read that it takes a bit to "seat in". I thought 5 months was long enough. I tried adjusting the door catch on the body itself with no success. Is there something else I can do. Sometimes I think I'm going to break my door handle off, the exterior one that is. Thanks for your help. Oh, any fuel injection guys or gals out there mind looking at my post "another Z with cold start issues" would be a…

It's getting cold out so I hooked the heater core back up just now. I get hot air out of the defrost dash vents, but the gimbel vents and the center console vents blow cold. It looks like the flapper duct valves are actuating but they dont change things much. I did remove an aftermarket AC unit, would that change the hot air flow? Do I need something to take the place of the AC evaporator box?

Admin Edit - Split this discussion off out of a different thread. Also, my hub adapter finally came in so I can finally mount my Momo.

Anyone know where I could get a 4 point harness and harness bar that aren't overpriced and will fit the 280z? I saw a harness bar on andysauto but I've heard bad reviews about them and I don't know where else to search/ and what the length between the pillars is.

For the early series, 2 part question here, but related. When I got this car years ago the defroster switch was in a box and both that hole and the hazard light hole was empty. The defroster I am actually not sure if it is the correct one, but I have the light socket and wiring there so it must be the lighted kind and not the other. If I understand the innards of it correctly it is just a metal plate that pivots back and forth and makes contact? As for wiring, I have 4 wires and it appears green and green/red go to one side and red goes to other with black going to the lamp socket. I am missing the hazard lights lamp or plastic piece that goes there next to the defrost…

Does anyone with a '78 280Z have a good picture of what the passenger kick panel should look like? My driver's side has a black plastic cover, however on the passenger side there is nothing but the fusebox surrounded by black fiberboard.

Hi everyone, I got myself a parts car today and thought i was getting a mint dash but noticed some bubbling at the top when I cleaned it up and looked at it more carefully. I have a couple of questions. First, is there a way to smooth out the bubbling? (The dash has no holes or cracks) Second, will this dash be a direct fit into my 1976 280z? (Keep in mind that the one in the parts car is from a late 260z which looks like the 280z dash, not the 240's. Thank you for any help or suggestions.

I did some searching but didn't find a solution. The carpets are not held down in any way and slide all over the place. The new floorboards are clean and covered with Dynamat sound proofing. I have replacement carpets from MSA with jute stuck to the back. I need to secure the carpets. I was thinks of putting in an eyelet in the carpet under the front edge of the seats and a hook on the seat mounting rail. I also think a saw a product that you can spray on a material surface to rubberize it. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated. The 73 240 is almost ready to put on the road for the first time in 29 years, I should have insurance in two or three days. I’m very exci…
