I did some searching and I'm still unclear... Will a early 260-Z front bumper fit on a '73 240-Z? they look very similar and Black Dragon has new 260-Z fronts for $149. I know the '73 240 had the beginings of the 5mph bumpers and it looks like the early 260 used the same bumper. Has anyone tried? Will it fit? Thanks

Hey all! Been out of the hobby for a while, since my son was born. I feel like a bonehead for asking the most common knowledge question, but which casting is the 260z intake manifold? I have a few intake/carb combinations from different cars, but I forgot which is which. Thanks, and try not to be cruel!

:classic: :squareeye While I was getting ready to swap out my auto trans for a manual in my 260Z I did alot of reading first. Both here and in ZCAR.com If it were'nt for these two sites I am sure I would of wasted a lot of time and money. Anyway, while I was reading about this swapI ran across the "pesky spacer" on the rear of the crankshaft. Had I not known about that ahead of time I would of surely tried to install the manual and pulled out what little hair I have left. What I didn't find was any photos of this spacer. Sooooo here are some pics of it in place and off the crank. I hope this helps someone in the future. Again thanks to all who have posted and m…

I bought my '73 240Z intending to restore it and be happy with it. A bit of nastalga and an every other day driver. I put my efforts into upgrading the suspension and handling. A daily driver should ride good... and I put a bit of money into it. Then I started thinking about how I would miss the horsepower. Handling is great, but hp is better. So I started looking at the upgrades available for stock 240Z's. I was thinking in the + tens of horse power upgrades. I started thinking about the cost of the "+tens" and it just didnt make sence. Sooooo, I started thinking in hundreds of horse power. I looked at V8 conversions, Skyline engines, and the ol' tried and true…

Hi all, I have an interesting question for the experts on this site especially jmortenson. I found an 86 200SX 4 cyl N/A at the JY and removed the KR180 diify. Upon removing the rear cover I found the numbers 37.9 stamped on the ring gear. This indicates that it is a 4:11 which is what I want to put in my car, a '73 with an 81-83 5-spd. I will take the buttons from the spider gears from my R180 3:36 and put them into the 4:11 thereby utilizing my half-shafts and stubs. Thank you, jmortenson for the diffy sticky on hybridz. Now here is the intersting part. I also removed the speedo cog (which was in an aluminum housing) from the 5-spd in the 200SX and here is what I fou…

So I just installed My new SFI-Spec Racing Damper, 70-83 Z/ZX from The Z Store and come to find out the timing marks don't align with the indicator on the engine. The indicator is bolted to the engine block at 2:00 relitive to the damper and the timing marks are over at 11:00 or so when I go to time the engine. I think the removable indicater on the engine is on the correct side and I do believe all is correct with any other bits having to do with timming. Although I will probebly never find an end to the creative changes past owners have done to this car. I debated moving the indicator over to the 2:00 position if no other solution is provided. I think the 510's indicat…
