Has anyone done this? I saw some posts when i searched saying should be possible but no one said it has been done. The reason I post this is I know a little old lady (really) who has a 78 280Z she has owned since it was new but she can no longer cope with the steering. (hey we are all going to get old). She hates to give up the car. I've got a steering unit complete off a 83 turbo car and some guys in the club would help if it is doable. Any help would be appreciated.

The engine is out of my 1970 240Z and I noticed the steering universal joint has a small amount of wear. I would like to replace it but cannot find any one who has one. The manufacturer is Torrington and the part number is NSA0240A. I called the Torrington rep who said these UV joints are only sold in Japan. NISSAN does not sell them anymore. can anyone help?? To all those who have installe the PU bushings from MSA... How do you arrange the pieces on the sleeves for install? Specifically the forward bushing on the rear control arm. To those who don't know there are 2 different sizes of PU to arrange on two different lengths of sleeve. Is it 2 long PU's on a long sleeve? If so that leaves you 2 short PU's on a short sleeve and that seems like you would have to space them apart and leave a gap in between them on the sleeve to install..?? Anyway, how did y'all do it? I am looking to buy a set of lower serrated washers/mount stoppers for a 73 240z I have new bushing and the uppers are available from motorsport and black dragon,neither of which carries the lowers. This would be the finishing touch to rebushing the car. everthing else is done including autotrans and diff mount. I am located near LA.Any one got any ideas where I can get these? Might have to go with MSA urethane bushing set ,but have to mess with old steel sleeve.

Hey guys, I know this is kind of off topic but I felt like i should post this on every forum i visit pertaining to our Z's. I am sitting at a shop located in Orange,CA minutes (2 actually) from MSA. The shops name Brake Masters. I just bought a set of HP's, MSA sways, and Eibach springs. I had them installed here at BM and they did a wonderful job. Steven (The owner) was happy to introduce me to the guys working on my car ( Who by the way also own a 280Z ) and got me coffee for the wait. Before anything I just want to say please no flaming! I know how strongly everyone on here feels about keeping the Z's as stock as possible. I love my car, if it were a woman and could . . . . I'd marry it! But, I wanted to go this route engine wise becuz i love the motor, and i'm familiar with it. With that being said here are a few things that will help with solving my question . . SR20 all aluminum block and head which takes about 200-300 lbs off the front of the car. It is also located VERY far back in the engine bay given the car a more mid-engine feel. It seems that my zed had suffered an accident in the rear right suspension. The car would sit about an inch lower on the rear right. After replacing the shock and coil, the problem was still present. So I purchased a rear right suspension unit(control arm, drum, and the whole deal). I removed the old suspension, then I proceeded in removing the spindle pin since the new control arm was not intact and was missing the spindle pin. I thought no big deal i'll just use the old one. I am moving (finally !!) on my front end and I would like to freshen everything rubber if possible. Does anyone know where I can get new o-rings that sit between the steering knuckle arm and the bottom of the strut tube casting? Or any official names it may have ? OK many of you may recall I've been posting questions about spring and strut choices for about a year, and finally settled on ST springs and Tockico HP's . My mechanic(who has owned 240-Z's) put em on today, and.. It's another case of the front end being over two inches taller, while the rear is OK. Note before and after pics.:stupid: We do have the springs marked as "front" on the front end. I was involved in thread regarding the ride height issues caused by newer gas pressurized shocks. I am fixing up a suspension on a 71 with 85k miles. The car obviously sat around alot. How would I know if the springs were needing replaced? Is there a way to measure the spring rate or should I just replace them? This car will be a summer car and all other pieces of the suspension will be restored stock. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
