Anyone have an orange 280?
If you go back and look at the zhome page you'll see that it's a bit ambiguous about what colors are for what years. Just above the 260Z/280Z list it has this list: "Paint Codes and Interior Colors 1970 Through 1976: 1970 and 71 Model Year Cars 901 Light Metallic Gray or Silver Metallic 903 Blue (till 8/71) 904 White (till 7/75) 905 Red (till 8/71) 907 Dark Green (till 8/71) 918 Orange 919 Yellow (till 8/71) 920 Gold (till 8/71) Added/Changed for 72/73 Model Year Cars 110 Red (from 9/71 on) 112 Yellow (from 9/71) (aka: Lime) 113 Green Metallic (from 9/71) (aka: Leaf Green / Avocado) 114 Bronze Metallic (from 9/71) (aka: coco / dark brown) 115 Blue Metallic (from 9/71) 260Z/280Z ...." Oddly it says '70-76 at the start - so does it mean those listed without "(till 8/71)" continued on until '76? If so I don't know what that means for your '77 anyway. Also sblake and cnixgo mentioned that 510Blue isn't on the list so there are bound to be others. Anyone have access to Carl Beck to find out where his list came from?

orange 280z
Anyone know for a fact if this really was an available stock color on the 280Z's? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=2472321990 the zhome.com paint code list doesn't list orange as an available color for the 260-280Z's. Now I'm wondering what else is missing from the list. Her's the zhome list. "260Z / 280Z Colors 215 White (from 8/75 on) 214 Dark Brown (from 8/73 - 7/76) 240 Green Metallic (from 8/75 on) 301 Brown Metallic (from 8/73) 302 Leaf Green Metallic (from 8/73) 303 Green Metallic (8/73 - 7/75) 304 Gold Metallic (8/73 - 7/75) 305 Light Blue Metallic (from 8/73) 306 Silver Metallic (from 8/73) 307 Blue Metallic (from 8/73) 362 Dark Purple Metallic (from 8/75) 517 Beige Metallic (from 8/76) (aka: Lt. Gold) 611 Wine Red Metallic (from 8/76) (aka: Burgundy) 901 Silver Metallic"

brazing bodywork
Thanks for the help. I've also spoken to someone locally who knows this stuff and he thinks it looks good. The important parts are welded and the brazing is just there for clean-up.

brazing bodywork
Any of you have experience with brazing body work? I just got some rust repair done and I noticed lots of brass brazing to fill in holes I assume. None of it is on the outside - just around the battery tray, firewall and lower door sills. Will POR-15 stick to this stuff, and does it need to prepped a special way? Does it offer any protection against rust of the underlying metal? I'm wondering if I got ripped on this repair work. Thanks, Michael

Work in Progress
Awesome work man! Are you using the dimensions from the FSM to put it together? Also, could you also try one without the airdam? I'd love a copy of the source when you're done. I don't do 3dsmax work myself but I have a friend who does.

Uhhh Is it a '70 or a '71? I'm confused. Looks like a nice project car in any case - but I'd like to see more pics!

I hope you got the blaster working fine. BUt actually if you've got a box and lots of air compressor power you could go with a siphon blaster for the hood. Maybe less trouble than the pressure blaster.
