70 Z Bought on EBay...ROAD TRIP!!
Kurt I was bidding on the same car. Congratulations on your win. I think you got a great deal on the car. I just woke up from a 35 hr road trip in the last two days and I think it was worth every minute of it. Please be careful on your trip.Make sure to take plenty of tools with you and check your setup often.Last night at about 11:45 my hitch came loose at 70MPH and I just about lost it. Luckely the safety chains held on.No damages or injuries. Have a safe trip and keep us posted.

For you Seattle Seahawk fans...........
I live in the town where they filmed the original series with the General Lee. To use the RN word offends me my,wife who by the way happens to be my first cousin,my best friend Bubba, and all my friends at the Sac O Suds. Now in these politically correct times we would like to be referred to as Native Southern Americans. :classic: :classic: GIT R DONE

Returning a favor 70 FSM
I don't know if this is the right forum for this,so if not just let me know. Just over a month ago I was in real need of the FSM for my 70/71Z. 26th-Z went out of his way and sold me 2 FSM's for 90 dollars. That is half what I have seen them sell for. This christmas I received a set of new ones plus a couple of used ones.I would like return the favor and offer the set I got from 26th-Z for the same price he sold them to me for 90.00 for the pair that go with the 70Z. If no one wants them I will sell them on e-bay or if 26th-Z wants them back I will work that out with him. They are in great shape and was real helpful to me but since I have more I would like to see someone in the club that can use them have the first chance to get them.

what do you do...
Ian You seem to be way ahead of your time.I wish I had the guts to tackle a project this size at your age. I have just started on the same project at my age and it seems like a lot to bite off still. So a little insight into how men tackle projects is to when everything seems to go wrong and you don't know what to do start a bunch of projects at once so you get so deep in stuff that your first project don't look so bad.

Honk if you drive a Z, or Where's the love?
I have not seen a 240 on the road in a couple of years around here.My wife had never seen one or at least if she did she didn't know what it was. When I first got it she did not like it until she rode in it and a lot of people gave us the thumb up or just stared. We get a lot of people comment on it. Now she calls it our Z.

I don't remember the name of the place but it was in Gainesville.Do you have any history of this Z? I have been able to find somethings but I would like know all I can just for my information. It turned out better than I expected with the upgrades. It is a blast to drive.I just wish I could find a 5 speed somewhere on this side of the country to slip in it,

Ammeter vs Voltmeter
My ammeter has been jumping a lot more than normal lately and I have read every thread back as far back as I can remember on ammeters, voltmeters, regulators, and troubleshooting.I had my mind set on the problem being in the meter or the regulator. After reading Arne's reply I went went back out and found the problem was a short to ground in the tailight wires. All the experts said that was the probable cause to start with. That goes to show what happens when you get tunnel vision working out a problem.

To all Classic Zcar Club members
It is a great day outside and I told my wife I would be glad to run into town and pick up some some lunch. It is abount 15 miles on back country roads so I don't think it should take more than 2 maybe 3 hours in my Z.I want to make sure I take my time and be careful.I am sure she wouldn't want me spill her drink.Oh well what can I do?

- E88 not the best head?
I got my info from that sight but have been to other sites that say different. I wanted input from others that have tried combinations to see how they work- E88 not the best head?
I just ran up on a F 54 block with P90 heads. I understand with flat top pistons it will have plenty of compression. I am new to this part of performance so I would like any input I cah get.- It was worth all the trouble !!!!!
I looked at your progress and really have to comend anybody with the patience to restore a car from what you started with. My first Z was the same build date as yours but I bought in 73. It was the same color as yours which is my favorite. I would love to get one just like it to redo but I can't find one. good luck on your project and please keep us posted.
