  1. They did a poll here in Canada of which Presidential candidates we would vote for if we could vote in the US of A - results were similar to the outcome of your election. Congratulations.
  2. Well said Ron - I am like minded. I have a 73 in pretty good shape and I'm gonna keep it looking like an original Z, because they are things of beauty, but I am going to bolt on whatever I can find/afford that makes it more fun for me to drive. These babies are for diving - I can't see putting it in a shed to take out every now and again on a sunny day. I have a 280 that I got three years ago - got almost 12,000 miles put on it since then - and we can only drive em about six months a year. Fix it the way you want it and keep all the stock parts in case you have a change of heart later.
  3. Have you done an alternator upgrade?
  4. Stephen - Can you post some shots of the arrangement?
  5. Welcome aboard - you have a very sweet looking car. I also have to say that is a very nice colour. Is she as nice inside as she looks outside? (hint - pics)
  6. Is there an R180 3.9? A guy in my neck of the woods has a rolling body from a 71 that was a track car - says it has a 3.9 r/e.
  7. If anyone has a unit for sale - I am interested.
  8. Figured that out. Thanks anyway
  9. Stephen/Bill - Thanks, that got me running.
  10. Did the part numbers chage through the years 79 - 83 ? If so does anyone know what they are? I am poking around and have found a couple of different units (E12-93 for example) - Same?
  11. Nice car, but not very realiztic pricing. Don't think it will sell.
  12. Sailor Bob replied to ramsesosirus's topic in Body & Paint
Nothing will save a Z from rapid rusting if you use it during the winter - short of taking it completely apart and rustproofing the inside of every panel. The paint you see on the outside is about all the paint there is on it - insides of panels have a little primer. To get a sense of what you are dealing with lift the cowl plate and look at the bottom and of course the drainage area beneath. Salt will destroy your car - if you like the car, stow it for the winter and enjoy it in the spring.
  13. I wonder if I can get a retroactive discount - it would almost cover the dollar exchange on a new exhaust system
  14. Interesting twist - perhaps unrelated, but half hour after I posted my frustration in this thread about the undelivered goods - I got a refund on that very item from Paypal . Made my day. Might be the right time to complain about the lottery.
  15. I have two items in question at this time. I am completely in limbo with them - Ebay seems to do very little to deal with trouble sellers. My cases are very simple - I won auctions and paid completely (inc. shipping) within a couple of hours of auction endings and the seller didn't ship and won't answer my emails. One item is from August. I will be adding to the bad ebayer list soon.
  16. Is there a discount for being a member of Classic Z? If so I lost a fair amount of money.
  17. I was like minded til the USD went through the roof, through Paypal I am now paying 25 cents on the dollar. I wll be following the thread to see how you feel about it when completed.
  18. It's a little loose on the intent.
  19. I'm glad you posted - I was considering MSA for two Carbon fibre items. I will look around somemore. If you hadn't shown the product I could have been a disappointed client as well. Thanks for the heads up.
  20. Heads up - it's on right now on the NG HD channel. Seems to be a comparison between the GTR and the 911 turbo.
  21. I wouldn't be happy. The carbon fibre products I have seen are very presentable - that looks defective. Good luck getting it sorted out. I have had issues with MSA befor - it was as simple as a phone call and they reshipped the correct product at no cost to me (other than my time - two weeks).
  22. I'm new in tthe carburator game, but when I got my 73 (ex-flat top) the very first thing that bugged me about the car (after some shipping damage) was the electric fuel pump - it was just too loud. I read a few threads on the subject, spoke to Ztherapy and it seems that it wasn't required and possibly the cause of some other problems. I disconnected mine and it seems to run fine - although I don't have any significant milage on it yet. I will remove it entirely when I get a chance.
  23. Follow up - befor departing for sea I stowed both cars in the shed (snow is very likely from now until April up here) and put the 73 out front. I put two glugs (new scientific measurement) of ATF down the plug holes of each cylinder - it will sit till I get home in three weeks. Fingers crossed (no snow) I will might get her out for another run - dump the oil and see results.
