I find myself drawn less and less to this forum ( website ). The old forum was easier and less convoluted , at least to me ! 3 times in a row I could not log on - either site maintenance or something else. Can someone tell me why this change again ? I miss the old site , I really do .

My 2 cents ? Don't cheap out or cut corners on brakes - someone else might pay after you put the car through their door because you could not stop properly. This is vital safety equipment - modern tires and suspension will surpass braking ability that was designed for the S30 way back then. This site is great for the average home mechanic to ''do it yourself '' and save some cash , but brake performance should be pro designed to go over the top of what you know your car can do !

That's why I went with Paypal through Mastercard - you get the extra layer of protection and the MC dispute process is quick with 100% refund , not a ''let's make a deal 70%'' paypal refund . You essentially paid by cheque ( cash ) and now have to rely on the big ebay / paypal robot to help you ! :tapemouth . Through a credit card you can speak to a ( gasp ) real live human !! :eek:

Can anyone post detailed pictures of mounted Datsun headlight covers ? Especially the mounting fastener area ? I will be installing early 3 screw covers , and I would like to see the installed setup. Also do's and don'ts , maybe better ways to do this - also I will be fabbing the hardware as these did not come with the screws / plates . Thanks !

Hey Gents . I've always wondered what the attraction to these are ! Do these mirrors ''perform'' differently by giving a deeper view ? To me they seem to clutter up a great design of a car , and you don't see them on any rallye or race type cars . Why do these originate in Japan ? Know any history ? Just some questions nothing else . PS you would think this style of mirror would attract vandalism etc. !

There's no rules for bashing outrageous pricing - and witty comments can have decent flavour . Someone reminds me of haughty Charles from M*A*S*H flicking ''regular'' folk in the ear with Harvard gusto........ Anyway the car is priced the way it is , and someone will make an off ebay offer he can't refuse . That's the game now , so buyer and seller get around the fees . My take and 2 cents !

The words '' collector car '' here in B.C. Canada mean a car with only stock parts , and rarely ''period correct '' add ons will be allowed. So a seperate appraisal must be done for MY car with a correct replacement value with NO collector plates . Yes way more expensive. If you drive your '' stock '' car on Sundays , during the day , in sunny weather , 10 miles max , no passengers , under 50 mph , under 3000 revs , with original keys in the ignition , no bird sh!t on the windows , in the right hand lane only, you qualify for '' cheap plates ". I guess the 'States has more competition in the insurance industry . Lucky ........

If you try and revive it , it may take some effort in the biblical proportion range. To me , it's already gone through it's first rebirth with the white paint. It's a ( minimum ) 2 lifer already , and the showing rust is proof ! Good luck !

Looks like paint or powdercoat - too ''even'' a colour all around to be patina of some sort . I'd offer less after a real good poke, prod and test ! I kinda like the wheels . , and the blue interior .

Yes true regarding the center caps - they fit but slightly loose and will spin easliy on the 92's - I use a dab of silicone to keep 'em in place - watch out at car shows or parking anywhere , they're easily ripped off.......:pirate:

^ I have an early car, Jan / 1970 vin 538 , so that would probably explain the nice fit. My scoops are plastic , so the early 3 screw covers sit really well !

To clarify, I meant very recent ebay transactions - and then I look , and the guy racks up over 15 ''red'' complaints AFTER my win- so they start with maybe 5 good honest deals, then go on a big rip off spree never to be seen again ( with the same ebay user name ) . People , watch out I say !
