Does anyone have a photo of the content sheet of the Series 1 tool bag contents? Thanks, Keith

Rivets may be the wrong fastener I was looking at some past emails from jfa.series1, he indicated a source for hex-head screws. I will reach out to the supplier to see if they offer self-tapping sheet metal screws. Keith

As I see the photos, the A pillar coverage would compliment extending the landau material to the hood. Naturally, the engine heat may effect adhesive, so my rivet solution can be extended to the hood area. There are way too many stock 240Z's around. I want my car to really stand out at a car show! Nice, the illustration show adhesive. I thought some black rivets (to match the vinyl) would be a better alternative. Glue and other adhesives can deteriorate due to heat and moisture. I want some permanency to this enhancement. Keith

Since I have plenty of time on my hands, I thought now is the time to add a bit of distinction to my 1970 Safari Gold 240Z. Most people add weber carbs or fender flairs. My idea is the landau top. Here is a photo of an install. Ignore the beltline molding for now, I would add the molding once I can find a manufacturer that offers one that can be screwed to the body (I do not want the stickon type). The manufacturer of the top offers one day shipping, so I will get it tomorrow and have the install completed by Saturday. I'm so excited! I'll post photos when I am done. Maybe a group buy can be arranged for other Z owners!! Keith
  7. Word on the street is that @jfa.series1 is busy removing corrosion and contaminates from Z parts....he probably will not have his "paint application" hat on until the weekend!!
  8. Would you (and your spouse) rather have a 21k-Mile 1971 Datsun 240Z Series I or $310,000? Don’t think too long about the answer! Keith
  9. Page number should be “JFA-20”?
  10. Interesting comment. I believe early USA delivered vehicles had a 11 mm ball joint shaft. (Later vehicles had a larger shaft due to ball joint failure.) Keith

What are the three holes on the seat base used for? Thanks, Keith
  12. New Year’s Day we will cut the slits in the cargo deck carpet to accommodate the luggage straps. What will you be doing? Keith

Bonzi Lon and fuzze, Do you have a close-up photo of the original Nissan fastener/rivet used to attach the original rubber seat strap to the seat clip? I am most interested in the head shape (positioned close to the seat foam) and the washer/crushed fastener end that is positioned on the opposite side. Thanks, Keith
  14. From my research all 1970-1978 had the protectors. The later model 240Z seat that had the reclining mechanism had a different shape to the clear plastic, but same gauge material. Keith
  15. The WSJ is very restrictive on access to their articles. Try this link: https://amedpost.com/when-datsun-met-corvette-sparks-flew/ Keith
  16. National attention from an authoritative publication. Enjoy reading the Wall Street Journal. Keith https://www.wsj.com/articles/when-datsun-met-corvette-sparks-flew-11569942100
  17. To clarify, my quest is for the 2-3/8" metal clips...not the fastener (rivet) or the hog ring. Thanks, Keith
  18. The clip material diameter is 1/8". It would require considerable time to create a jig to hold the steel rod immobile for the tight bends of the clips. Keith
  19. I need sixteen (16) Datsun 240Z seat strap metal clips. Does anyone have a resource to share? (Zeddsaver will have some stainless steel ones soon, but I prefer to continue on with my project in the next couple of weeks.) Thanks for the referrals. Keith
  20. I have a set available. See: 1972-1975 Fuel cap and ring (new plating) Keith

Any recent development to report on the Jute topic? Thanks, Keith

Kats, I have obtained a sample of a light blue/green cloth. Do you still have the original cloth on your seat bottoms to confirm the color match? (If so, I would mail you a small sample for verification purposes.) Keith
  23. January 2019 orders completed. Thanks to all. I have to research a way to simply the production, these pieces require custom cutting and it is very difficult to make all precise cuts. Keith

Please see the classified if you are interested in a set of the reproduction clear vinyl seat protectors. Keith
