What is the most attractive part of your Z
I am always warm when I sit in my seats...beacuse my seats are in my basement in storage!!! Since my Z is still being stripped of paint...I'd say the most beautiful part of it is when i open the garage door and the light hits the shell just right....you can see the previous days surface rust growing and the way the colors dance on the sheet metal where one color of paint was stripped and the primer underneath glows...it makes me smile. The lines of the POR-15 in the engine bay really stand out and if I look at just the right angle...well i can see a a spot I missed telling me to quit standing there and get back to work. I love my Z.

finally some decent pics of the Z
wow..looks way better. Must be the light, but the blue looks less 'purpley' now. Those fisheye-lens pics look great!! Nice work. Zak

What is the worst part of this club
After reading this a few times, its interesting how different things bother different people. People at different technical levels, people with different cars (z - zx), and of course people with different personalities. Theres definetly running themes as to what the worst part of the site is. I'm not technical enough to be bothered by car-version specific posts or protocol for posting (hell, im just happy when people try to help me out!), and I think the spammers arent problem enough to be more than entertaining at the moment (however they are a problem at some of the sites i visit). As far as the 'site' goes, the layout is pretty standard, and dynamic enough to not be boring. Id have to agree that not being able meet other members and have a beer while comparing cars is probably one of the worst things about this site! Everything else is relatively good considering all of the variables involved.

What would you like to add to your S30?
HHmmm...Bond girl at 22 or 'finish it now button'....oh man, what to do. I'd hate to have to choose, but its a win-win situation. Zak

i am new, and am just starting a restore
Hey and welcome to the site! Good luck with your Z. Have a look here by searching the forums for info on rust/rustproofing/metal prep/paint, etc. Lots of people here use POR-15 for 'rustproofing' chassis metal, and other POR products for prepping the bare metal. It may be useful to you for underside, floor pans, inner fenders, engine bay. I've learned theres alot involved in both stripping the paint properly, prepping the surfaces, proper cleaning, then a wide variety of prep and paint products to consider for your particular job. Check out JIMMYZ (above) web page, and heres a link to some good articles: http://www.autobody101.com/articles/ Heres a link to a site with some painting info: http://www.lambolounge.com/Body/Paint/paint.asp That should keep you busy for awhile! Fill out your profile and tell us where you're at, and post some pics of your project in your gallery. Good luck, Zak

Floor Pans
I bought the floor pans from Charlie at Zedd Findings, they are great. I also met the ebay seller zfindings. Different guy is right! He had a rust free '72 rolling shell to sell me. I travelled 3 hours, cash in hand. When I got there, he took me to a farm where there was a rotted, rusted out shell. I was serioulsly dissapointed, he made it sound PERFECT. He outright lied, there was no mistaking the condition of it. I didnt stick around long enough to listen to his sales pitch. Im glad I didnt rent a trailer first, or I would have been out money. Lesson learned - Caveat Emptor. Zak

Cool Z pic
Now you have to post a 'submit your best coloring' thread. Where do I get crayons in 110 red?? Zak

finally some decent pics of the Z
I agree on the bumpers. Black would go really nice with the grill, emblems and wheels. zak

BMW ROAD RAGE ... check this out
It looks staged, in fact all the 'actors' look awkward even. I watched it a while ago and sure the concept is humorous...we'd all like to be able to stop 'Canadian red-necks' from beating us down with a bat and steal their camera and do a 'priceless' type video after to show how we owned them. However, that video was just poorly done and not so funny. Just IMHO. Zak

1st Road trip/results/towing arrgh!!!!
I *think* ive got an alternator from a later Z car, the P/O told me, but I'll have to check. I did score a mint fuseblock...but from what ive read i should still replace it. I got the headlight relay upgrade from here, and I think I'll need a new wiring harness for the engine bay. Mine was mangled and modded and had lots of electrical tape in spots! Zak

Restoration is back on track (with a lot of help)
Good pics Mike. Keep them coming (I need some way to know what order to reassemble in!). How does the carpet from CDM fit? Zak

1st Road trip/results/towing arrgh!!!!
Your story doesnt give much confidence on my restore! I have visions of long trouble-free trips when it's finally restored. Yeah-right. Zak

1st Road trip/results/towing arrgh!!!!
WOW. That was some trip. At least you were able to get around all the road blocks you hit. Sure it was a pain in the @ss, but now you can post the fuse block pics, and you'll get the air dam fixed! Zak

Hello from South Africa.
Welcome to the site! If you think you're doing it all wrong, just do a search and you'll probably find lots of useful information. I've been restoring my Z for 2 years and I'm still doing lots of things wrong. Why dont you post some pics of your car in your gallery, and show what you've done so far or what shape its in. Zak

oh noes!! I got the Z back from the paint shop
Looks good, rims are a good choice (Rewinds?). I'd like to see those daylight pics. Zak

Rust-free Floors in a Z??????
The before and after pics are night and day. Good results. I used the regular POR-15 so far on the bottom of my floors, does the clear stuff leave that high gloss after its done? or is that the camera flash? Zak

Crikey
A tragedy indeed, and my heart goes out to his wife and children. Steve was larger than life. Im really sad. I watched him all the time with my kids, and they just love him. The huge milestones he made in wildlife education and conservation will not be forgotten, and I hope his work continues. Zak

Pimpstar Wheels
I hope I never see those on a Z!!!

1st time poster with a questions
OK, Vintagecarman. We're all paying attention now. We've all read these posts and I can honestly say you may have been met with the vibe you have given off. Has it been fair to you? Look at what you've said and tell us. I think youve been as big of an *ss as everyone else. You came here a stranger and made some claims, and had a few people including myself respond to you. Now instead of getting into arguments with members heres what I think you should do: Take this time to validate what you have said. You can demand we take you seriously and argue with members if you like, but that may even put off serious cutomers. Explain your business and detail the process of how you get the job done. Show us your website if you have one. Provide some specific examples that can be verified so your credibility as a legitamate business can be established here. After all, you were a stranger a few days ago. I'm sure there is interest here for a car locating and shipping service. Youre the one who claims you can do it, so now here is an opportunity for you to verify and validate what you've said. You can use this opportunity to move forward and prove your business. This is just my opinion, maybe not everyone elses. Zak

1st time poster with a questions
No problem. No hostility whatsoever, but I'll admit to the sarcasm. I thought it was fair game after I read his reply to KenshinX's post and inferred the sarcasm there. After all, fact is he did make a grand claim - a sales pitch in fact, and came up with Craigslist ads. Lets not debate the semantics and intonations of what he said, or how he said it. Lets let the guy get to work and come up with cars. I still want (at least) one '72 rust free rolling shell. Vintagecarman, feel free to PM me if you end up going through with this and can get us some good deals. Zak

What the ?? Welcome to the site. You quoted me then mentioned hostility, I dont get it? I just offered to buy cars from you dude. You are correct, I have not seen hundreds of Z cars, thats why I better get on this quick. I do not sell cars for a living either, more evidence of me not having access to cars. I also live up north where they rot out, so myself and 2 of my friends are interested in buying rust free cars. I just re-read my post and I dont detect one note of 'hostility'. I think it was pretty to the point. You have 100's of Z's or you don't. If you do, pretty please with sugar on top, put up some pics/descriptions/prices. Thanks again, Zak

1st time poster with a questions
You certainly must have the resources since you made this claim so please, literally, post some pictures of the 100's of cars. I'll pick a few and arrange for payment and shipping as soon as you provide me details. Im sure you'll agree to me getting an inspection of the vehicles before payment. I'm confident in saying this, because I've never seen 100's of 70's Z cars before, and some of them will certainly be better than what I've got. Maybe others here would like you to post the details of the 100's of 70's cars also. Pictures, descriptions and prices would help. Thanks, Zak
