ridiculous as it may seem, smacking the radio out of frustration has prevented me on several occasions from buying a new head unit! it's probably the connector in the back or a wire whose integrity has been compromised. glad to hear it's working now!

if i were you i'd check the connections to the back of the radio, then see if any wires happened to get pinched. if all else fails, give her the ol' smackaroo

^it's a grease that usually comes in a disposable container (much liek ketchup packets) that you put onto the connectors... but i don't think that would cause the problem you are having....

just pick up a grinder and have a go!
