First up, thanks for showing this Eric, I always hoped a DVD of this content would show up:classic: About your (American) DVD players. I have a brother in Boston who complains of the same thing...won't play other region DVD's. Are all the U.S, players region locked? DVD players here in Aust. are either multi region capable, or the region can be selected by fair means or foul:devious: , in my experience anyway. I can certainly fix you up with what you want, but I'm sure you wont have to resort to that! If you have the burner, the software you need to get what you need is out there. Jim.
  2. Hi Ron I'm guessing you're in Australia? Good info and people here for Z car related things. I think you'll find what you need if you click here! Jim.
  3. It's on eBay, click here! A bit pricey though. No harm in tryin' :cheeky:
  4. That's a good read George! My first thoughts were "I hope the car is sorted safetywise for those E.T's and speeds"!. For a first timer that is incredible. When you start pulling 11's at 125mph+ you discover all sorts of things about the physics and dynamics of your car at speed...and how any small unplanned change in these can lead to your role changing from driver to unwilling passenger... in a blink. If I sound like your old granny I apologize... It's just that I did enjoy being a track crash rescue and fire marshal for a few years, and there was nothing like the drags(my favourite!) to keep you on your toes. Haven't done it for years now, politics has changed it ...somewhat:( Sounds like you've already discovered there is more to a successful run than just "4000 launch!....7000 change!....7000 change!" How much can you tell us about the setup of the Z? I'd like to get along to WSID one Wed. night just to see you run. Running the Corollas and such may not be much to watch but when your involved in a few heads up runs who gives a bugger. If you ever get along to the test N tune days there used to be more competitors than spectators, which was great! you'd get a few mates out there running all sorts of machinery from bog stock to you name it. There is nothing quite like being involved:classic: Good luck with it George and I look forward to your further adventures....but stay out of the sand trap eh? Cheers, Jim.
  5. snip G'day Fred, A few years back a guy in Australia did retro engineer an RB20 with webers and distributor and put it in a 1973 Skyline KGC110 fastback. Here's a link to some pics.RB20 in a 1973 Skyline. He still owns the car. RockyAuto in Japan seems to specialise in this conversion. Here's a link Rocky Auto Japan Sakijo's friends' site is quite informative. His english is a lot better than my Japanese! (non existentLOL) I appreciate his efforts as when time and money allow it I hope to do a similar conversion. RB25de twincam head on an RB30 short motor similar to the attached pic. (no silly bl##dy turbo thingies ) . This would also mean bigger better brakes, gearbox and supension....bigger bank account first I s'pose:rolleyes: ..Hey!I'll get there!....you gotta have goals eh! Do you have any pics to show of the car in Finland Fred? How did you find it!? (nosey critter ain't I?! :nervous: ) Cheers :classic: Jim.
  6. Last one! (picture that is) I wouldn't mind a copy of these simply for the Z432 and Z432R references, as well as the police cars...Fairlady in the U.S.A.........hmm, just another book that needs translating:ermm: I tell you what....things would be different if I was King! Jim.
  7. The links to the volumes 1 and 2 will disappear around 22nd may, so I'll include the pics for future reference. The link to the seller is for his store and should be more reliable.
  8. These Fairlady volumes are in Japanese. The dealer does deal in english. 2 volumes that look very interesting to anyone interested in the coupes roadsters or the Fairlady Z. Here is a link to their english speaking site sigmaww and here are the links to the volumes for sale; Vol.1 and Vol.2 Good Luck!:classic: Jim.

Isn't it all about whether the sump or deeper pickup area part of the oil pan is forward or backward of the cross member?. If it's forward then the oil pickup would be to the front of the block, and if rearward the pickup would have to be to the rear of the block. I guess the dipstick would have to follow and be above the deeper part of the sump to accurately gauge the oil depth. The Nissan L series went in quite a variety of body shapes.....just a thought.
  10. I think a member here "Drunkenmaster" has done or is doing just that! I remember seeing some photos of the mods required. Do a bit of a search on him and see what you come up with. From memory he is in Victoria. Jim.
  11. Hi Gavin, Have a chat to Crow Cams in Campbellfield. Looking at what your head/induction /exhaust combo is, and then considering what you would like to do with the final package, then deciding the appropriate grind...It really is a black art. I think as long as they ask you the right questions about want you have, what you want to achieve, you're on the right track. Jim.
  12. Thanks for that Mike! very interesting. I 've heard of the same thing done by HWP cars over there, no idea exactly where though. Are they legal driving abreast like that over there? Here in Australia the general rule on freeways and the like is to keep to the left lanes (right hand drive remember!) unless overtaking. In other words the right lane over here is supposed to be used for passing or exiting only. We do have gherkins who think because they are sitting on the posted speed limit they can drive wherever they please! It does get them booked. I can certainly sympathise with the result of the experiment. If you drive at posted speed limits around Sydney you really stand out. I can't afford the fines or extra fuel that the higher speeds will getchaLOL ... so I tend to use cruise for most driving...
  13. ...And at the top of the post containing the quote MikeW used...... ..So it's out there somewhere. So many sites carrying Skyline history seem to pinch it from elsewhere on the 'net....warts 'n allLOL
  14. Is it an older pic of yours? I don't see flares on the TeeShirt car. The plate certainly looks Aussie proportions and not Japanese..C'maarn! put us out of our misery:cross-eye
  15. I'd like to offer a pat on the back to Alan (HS30-H) and Brian (akwikz) for their respective offers to websteg. The great thing is the nature of the gestures is not uncommon across this forum and will only ensure it remains one of the healthiest and productive sites for newcomers and the more experienced skinned knuckle types alike. Goodonya fellas! Jim.
  16. Hi Websteg, I know very little about Z's and their gearboxes, but from my own searching I thought they didn't get a 5 speed 'till the 280? Was Australia different? Did the Skylines of the era have a 5 speed? Here'a a little info Have a search of the forums here. There is a wealth of info in there and I'm sure the answers you need also! ....pity about rules and the option one though:disappoin Good luck with it, Jim.
  17. :nervous: :classic:  ...congratulations to all:eek: I believe this is our first 100 replies thread in the 240K corner:knockedou I really hope Tony keeps his K and tidies it up! Cheers, Jim.
  18. It's cheap and looks OK Worth keeping an eye on, Brian. It's in Melbourne, Victoria which is about 850 Kms (~530 miles) south of Sydney, New South Wales. Maybe a forum member closer to the car could check it out? Cheers, Jim.

What a great workshop! I'm looking forward to the story of the rebuild Miles. I owned a Gloria like that! It needed a lot of TLC though. I saved it from being bulldozed into landfill and was rewarded with a 2500cc G11 motor. A memory now:( Can you explain the significance of the single figure "5" please Miles? (oohhh lookout! Jims got lots more questions now!!:nervous: )
  20. Whoops! a good example of meaning being misconstrued. I mucked it up trying to be tongue in cheek! .. is what I meant to get across. Matters bugger all I 'spose! What are the Prince lenses and bezels for? Wrong part No.s for an S54 from my 1966 book? Cheers, Jim.:bandit:
  21. Hi Art, Why the smarmy poison pen responses? You've stated a few things that raise questions. I like that. It's the ensueing discussion that generally brings in facts, other possibilities and views into play. As others have suggested these statements, of particularly great interest to most of us here, create a need for more precise information, as your info is at odds to what has been accepted so far. That in no way makes it wrong/ untrue ...whatever, but it raises the burden of proof don't you think? Now I know from personal experience that proof can be damned impossible to atain, that's life eh?..but please don't go mistaking the weight of circumstantial, anecdotal and so far substanciated evidence as an attack on your good self! If you don't have the luxury of being able (no one says you have to, I see it as a courtesy) to back up your experiences with something to corroberate it with, no worries, we're big boys here and all been there. Just agree to disagree...keep ya powder dry in the event some document comes to light that you can fire this way, but don't get bent outa shape if a bit of disappointment in being "left hanging" comes through. It is all too easy to misconstrue the intent of a response. The "I believe" you pointed out is typical of this. I read it entirely different to you Art. "I believe":cheeky: you have some interestng facts to add to this story yet. I just hope they can come out and are not smothered by misplaced ill feeling:) The only C10 series I could have documented as having been registered in OZ around 1972 is a private import KGC10 2000GT. Imported from or via New Guinea, this is yet to be established if indeed it ever can be now! This is the car NISSAN had "misplaced" the documents for. It has in interesting history I hope to be able to relay with a nod from the current owner. There is another KGC10 2000GT thats been tucked away for a long time. It's story is still a mystery but I know the owner will be working on its history. Cheers, Jim
  22. He may have seen the stage musical that the movie was based on. This hails from 1956. I think I remembered this from the early sixties because me mum was interested in it. I found this care of google
  23. Hey Jacob, Best thing you can do is get it scanned and post a pic on here. I wouldn't be surprised if it was something that was done different in Australia, and is an item of interest simply because not enough have survived the span of time to be known about....even by the keen researchers! Jim. P.S. Some pics of your silver K would be good to see also:)
  24. OOOhhhh AAAHHHH Pete, you're for it now mate:paranoid: that was a secret. Don't be surprised to find the head off your car in bed with you one morningROFL
