Feeler: 1984 300ZX
Hey guys, sorry if I posted in the wrong place, but I figured since I'm in Texas, this would be the place. Anyways...I am curious how much I could get for this car if I decided to sell it instead of making it a project of my own. I picked it up the other day from a friend that left town...permanently. Unfortunately it has no title. Anywho...it's kinda banged up, but it starts, runs, and handles decent as well. When i heard about it, sight unseen, I assumed it was gonna be a part-out job...but I was pleasantly surprised to see it looks ok, with the exception of the big dents in the driver side fenders. Pics: dent 1: dent 2: Flip up head lights work and everything! anyways, I figured it could be a restoration project or just a driver. what do you think?

350z vs 240z
Yeah, it's mostly over-priveledged kids that don't know what the hell a 240Z is, but the other day I had to educate a 70-something year-old man in a 350Z roadster about where his car comes from! I don't think HE even knew he was driving a Z.

What do you consider to be a real Z?
Hey...waitiaminute, it took me a minute, but.... that frog reference is towards my 350Z engine, isn't it?

350z vs 240z
Funny thing is, most 350Z drivers have no idea what kind of car I am driving when I'm in my 240Z.

240Z runnin funny....

240Z runnin funny....
I counted that clockwise. I assume the rotor runs clockwise also, no?

240Z runnin funny....
I have recently -adjusted the carbs, -replaced the spark plugs/wires, -replaced the points with electronic ignition, -replaced any worn or bad fuel or vacuum hoses.... I still get backfires and it sounds like it's missing again. So I thought maybe the firing order was backwards... Correct me if I am wrong, but clockwise it should be: 3-5-1-4-2-6, right? Please help me figure out what's wrong. Thanks.

I did it, bought the 350

Um...Ford VS Chevy? Ain't that a little extreme? They are both Z cars. No I don't wish to revive the S30 vs Z33 war, because they are cars for different purposes...and as far as a warm welcome is concerned, I was backing him up by warning him about the crotchety oldtimers such as yourself that are hung up on living in the past. Look, I own AND love both cars, and there's no need for hostility here. ...unless your adult diaper needs a change. In which case..I understand why you would be grouchy!

This poor guy is getting the same "warm" reception I got on this forum when i first posted. You guys are ruthless when it comes to 350Z-bashing. Congrats guys! Way to make a new member feel welcome!

Wheel advice please...
I have searched the forum for info on this, but could not find it. I have the steel mag wheels for my 240, and they have gotten real dirty over time. I was wondering what you guys have used to polish them up or clean them? I wish to restore them to look new without making a whole day of it. Is there a mag/wheel cleaner that you would recommend Thanks for any help you can give. -Marc.

350Z brakes
He probably just abused them from the get-go, causing them to wear prematurely. Maybe too much track time. My 350Z brakes (non-Brembo) are still going strong at 25,000 miles. I don't think it has anything to do with Nissan brakes specifically.
