I came to the same conclusion as to this problem with all of our aging light switches. The plastic on mine was also very worn but not to the extent as yours. I solved mine by putting a small ball bearing behond each of the springs. This had the same effect and also slightly increased the tension exerted on the rockers. FWIW

The box is the tach adapter p/n 8920. This install is on a 72 Z and was required because it has a voltage triggered tach. The round red item is the noise capacitor p/n 8830. It is primarily a voltage safety item for the 6AL. See attachment.

I will be posting mine for sale a little later this year. I will be going to 15 inch wheels and sell the minilites. The car is still in storage for the winter and as soon as I get the extra cash I will do the swap.

I have seen manifolds for sale for the Z car that take two weber sidedrafts. I think those would also accept mikunis. Then it would be a matter of the linkage.

This was sent to me by a friend. Chester and Earl are going hunting. Chester says to Earl; "I'll send my dog out to see if there are any ducks in the pond. If there aren't any out there , I'm not going hunting. So he sends the dog out to the pond. The dog comes back and barks twice. Chester says, "Well I'm not going out. He only saw two ducks. Earl says "You are going to take the dog's barks for the truth?" Not believing the dog Earl goes to look for himself. When he gets back he says, "I don't believe it!" Where did you get that dog? There really are only two ducks out there. Chester says, "I got him from the breeder up the road. If you want you can get one too." So Earl goes to the breeder ant tells him he wants a dog like his friend Chester. Soon after Earl gets his new dog home, he tells it to go out and look for ducks. Minutes later the dog returns with a stick in his mouth and starts humping Earl's leg. Outraged , Earl takes the dog back to the breeder and wants his money back. The breeder asked Earl what the dog did. So Earl tells him that when he sent the dog out to look for ducks, it came back with a stick and started humping his leg. The breeder says, "Earl, he was trying to tell you that there are more ****in' ducks out there than you can shake a stick at!"

I prefer the black and red flames. Also something on the hood. I think just paint it black.
