I've found that the easiest way to deal with dim dash lights is to simply replace the bulbs with stock. 30-50 year old bulbs are indeed dimmer than new by a LOT.

While the cooling fan can be seen on the microfiche parts film I have yet to see one in almost 50 years as a Datsun/Nissan mechanic.
