Dip
I'll be stripping down to the unibody and welding in new floors and patches and wondered if it was best to strip off all the existing paint, while removing undercoating and rust. One thought led to another and I starting looking into places that will dip the who vehicle. Sure enough, for $1000 ($$$$$) a place will dip the whole unit. All the paint, rust, undercoat (everything not metal) will be GONE!! Ready for patch/prime. Anyone ever done this? I realize, though, afterwards, the original sound deadening in the hatch would be gone and would need replacement if intending to make 'original'. Is that stuff even available? Anyone ever done the dip?

Group buys, anyone?
I'll end up good for carpet, diamond vinyl, poly bushings, etc. I just organized a small group buy on rotisseries (we bought three) and was very happy with the end price/result. Now I've just got to get the Z up in the air.

Which one you like better?
One more for the consensus... bottom, no tail. Plus, toss the black out chrome. I prefer the bumpers, but as getting bumpers and rechroming adds $$$ (my Z came w/o bumpers) I'm partial to the dams w/ false bumpers.

center console
There is a Series1 console on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33705&item=2459084989 It's newly listed, but I'm sure it will sell for some unreasonable price.

Dashboards
Ken: Just a week or two ago I was speaking (typing) with Chloe and she indicated she had a new 72 (series 2) dash. Send her a PM (ID: msw) and inquire. I'm kinda/sorta looking for a series 1 for my 71. I'm considering Dashboard Restorations, but I have plenty of time till reassembly and would prefer new if I can find a decent price.

Two 240zs for Sale in New Jersey
Brooke: Do reply or send a PM indicated where in NJ you reside. I live in Northern NJ and would consider a ride down. Another member on the board also lives near me and may choose to come for the ride also. Give some though to what 'price' your father would desire, or, if he is more motivated to send it to a proper home. If there's anything most members of this board can offer, it is a good home and new life.

cruez.com
I second Rick's though. I had visited the site but didn't want to 'knock' someone for starting another site. His site does include classifieds for pickups and and all sorts of vehicles so I'm sure over time it'll include a bit of everything... quite a lot to sift through when you're focused on Z's. Think I'll stay here... You're all a good bunch.

"The Run"
This was available a few weeks ago (at least a few minute teaser was) on DirecTV Tivo. It didn't list in the guide, but rather in the main menu. I couldn't figure out how to record it, however. I hadn't realized there was a history around this, thanks for the background.

Pedal date Bingo

louvers on ebay
That's great... last time I saw as good an eBay item, it was Brittany Spears' virginity up for auction.... As I recall, it sold for much more than $5.

Tonight it's on
Per my original message, I'll dub a copy to VHS to anyone who'd like. Just PM me and I could purchase/ship a copy of VHS if you agree to reimburse the cost of the tape/shipping. One notable item was they continously refered to the 240Z but showed a 240ZG. They never mentioned it was a ZG but the pics were good.

Pedal date Bingo
If we play more Bingo games using other mechanical parts, it may serve as incentive for me to strip mine down a bit faster...

Tonight it's on
I'll be catching this on my Tivo (already have the Discovery program). As previously offered, anyone who would like a copy, contact me via PM and send me a SASE with videotape and I'll dump a copy.

280Z in NJ
In the local paper I found an ad for a 76 280Z project car (supposedly complete). It is located in Flemington, NJ and the current owner is asking $250/obo. During my conversation he seemed motivated to get it gone. It wasn't his car, it sounded as if he acquired it as a 'tow away'. He indicated it is still sitting on a trailer, so you may be able to get it delivered. He indicated he received a few calls, but no visits. He's planning to take it to the crusher. I encouraged him to permit scavengers to collect parts if he plans that route... he seemed willing. His contact info is: Steve Liebl, 908-782-0155.

280Z Valance New!!
Yes, still have the corners AND the center piece as well. I had hoped the 280 center would fit/work with a 240. It does not. All brand new. Seeking centers/corners for a 240 and a airdam for a 240.
