  1. Arne, I know the corner pieces are different, but just to confirm, the center piece IS totally different as well? I thought it was but wasn't totally sure.
  2. Fender & hood are compatible. Are your headlight buckets fiberglass? I would bet that one on a 280 would be metal but it should still fit fine. Lower valence? I can't say with any certaintly on that one.
  3. I think you can get a new one at MSA for about $20.
  4. My car is HLS30-66434 with a 02/72 build date.

  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8046658523&category=33705 Here's one that I sold a few months back that was in practically prefect condition.
  7. Before I put my dash back in, I'm trying to put my fan against the firewall after installing the Honda blower motor. I put it in to see how much of a gap I'd have between the top of the blower motor & the vent hole in the cowl area. I attached it into the car & screwed it fully into place. There's definitely a gap there. I guess my question is what type of material can be used as a gasket to ensure both durability and a tight seal to maximize air flow through the vents? What was on there was some type of rubbery gasket sealant type (don't know how to explain it) that was pretty thick. Instead of using another type of sealant similar to what was already there, I'm hoping someone has some experience in doing a better job on this. Thanks

That's a good book, but don't get it there. Get it here for less: Amazon

I'd have to agree with Arne. Because of the amount of rust I'd definitely see what all the body was going to require before I did anything. At the same time I'd inventory what could be salvaged from HLS30-00913 and determine what need to be purchased or acquired through a donor.
  10. I've got one. Once you learn how to navigate through it becomes well worth the $30. There's a banner that pops up on the top of the page. Parts CD

It looks like a Transformer from the 1980s
  12. Perhaps I should have been more clear. I didn't mean that the part number changed, it looks like the part has some physically different components. The one for your model has additional electrical connections that are not on the earlier models. I asked someone else & they told me "No."
  13. When I went to the microfiche, it looks like the part changes in 09/74.
  14. I don't JUST care only about my 240z. I care about boobs too!
  15. Dogma, the pic of the sticker you have in the second or so post is what I need. $10 shipped to my mailbox? Let me know if/when you get these in your hands. I'm not just interested in one, you've got a guaranteed sale with me. I'll buy one as soon as you get them made.
  16. I just picked up HLS-06969
  17. ncz, I have to tell you, I'm so embarrased about the news peole & rednecks down here are crying a river about CLT getting the NASCAR HOF instead of ATL. Steve, what are the dealers saying to you? My last trip to the dealer I tried to get an interior rear view mirror. He said they were gone. I asked him about the fenders for a friend & he said they were on waiting lists as much as he could tell. This was probably November last year.
  18. I went today & got a 1970 & '71 for $500. Well, I got the 70 today & I have to get the 71 within the next couple of weeks. The 70 has the original motor & is totally complete. However, while it's not rotted away, it has rust in every common rust place in a Z. The 71 is really a heap with fender flares & spoilers, but it too is complete. The guy was really cool though. He just started giving me stuff. I couple of extra hatch struts, three steering column covers, a nasty but straight splash pan to name a few. I finally told him that if I wanted anything else I'd call him. I had to rent a tow dolly & will have to again so my total will be $600 plus gas. He lives about 90 miles from me. It wasn't too bad of a drive for me since about 70 of that was interstate highway.
  19. MSA will offer you a varying discount on parts if you tell them that you're part of your local Z club. For example, because I'm a member of the Georgia Z Club, MSA gives me a discount of 10% or less in most cases. We GZC members receive a monthly newsletter & in the back if has a section that shows retailers that will offer a discount with proof of club membership. Banzai is one, Courtesy is another, & several local Nissan dealerships. The Nissan dealer that I go to gives a 20% part discount with membership. Here is my receipt & the part numbers are included.
  20. Without looking at my receipts, I believe they were about $200 each with my club discount.
  21. I bought two new fenders from my Nissan dealer about a year or so back. They were made in the US

I noticed that the original bidder removed their bid. I started looking at the VIN plates, and is it just me, but do two of them look suspicous? I'm taking back when I said I wouldn't be surprised if this car went for $20k. At this point, I'd be surprised if it received a bid at all.

You've got a Yugo? Does it run or do you & your mom use it as a tomato planter in the front yard? Joking aside, I think there's a chance of $20k. 682's a low number & the guy claims the car "does not and never has had rust." If true, then those who are serious & are willing to put 35-40k in a restoration may want this car because of its low VIN & lack of rust. I'm not saying that it will go for 20k, but if it does, I wouldn't be completely floored.

I too would like to see if go for well into the $20k range.
