Urgent!!! I Need Your Advice!
You need to have that fixed! With the Tension rod essentially ready to break loose, that wheel could send you to more trouble way too easily, don't drive the car. Will

What is wrong with the 350Z?
I gotta say after the insight Larry offered, the newer hood in Aphadogs' post is more 240esq! The bump starts a ways up the hood, with a chevron shape, and continues all the way to the windshield. Even though there is no valence panel as a 240Z had, the new hood carys the element all the way to the glass as it was in the 240Z. It looks to be similar in proportion to the hood expance and opening too-though the bump does look too wide in context too me-it looks like it would be more at home on a PT cruiser. Not that I don't like your hood! Will

Calling 26th-z and others
The web page is going through a total revamp on my laptop, I have asked several of our members outside of the USA to help me find pics and info for me, but as they are doing this as a favor, I asked in such a way as to not intrude in their daily activities. Several members have sent me things, and I have almost goten all of those worked in, when that is done, I will ask the same members to have a look at the work and see if I have any mistakes or misconceptions, then I will update my website. As to posting pictures of the projects, as they are proven, I will post so that they can be followed and or duplicated. Several are very near completion(the RH side mirror-is just waiting for me to make a multiple mold from the single I have-it is truely ready and looks like Nissan made with the LH side-I will the car painted before I set it up-and Victor) gets the second one...), and as soon as they are needed on my car, I will sew them up, make plenty, and and post! Headlight Upgrade Harness's For Sale (again!)
Yes, leds for the dash is opne of the projects I started, but a while back I came to the conclusion that if my car didn't come first, I was a more a vendor and not so much an enthusiast0not that you can't be both, but my car wasn't getting done for all of the projects. I will finish all of the projects, and make either my finding available, but only after my car is ready and in need of them-I really don't want to go to another Z show in a Volvo... Will

Top End Performance triangulated rear strut bar...
That looks like more of a problem than I expected too. If you paid by credit card, you can force tem to take t back if they don't jump in to take care of the situation. That does look more like a manufacuring problem than a car problem. Will

- What is wrong with the 350Z?
Larry, I really appreciate your reply, I did not see the nuances you listed, but in reviewing several pictures, I am starting to-especially relative to lthe more recent versions. Thank You, Will- Top End Performance triangulated rear strut bar...
I am glad for all of the personal experience being shared, any chance of a photo or two to save you from typing? I feel like my two year old, "Me see. Me see. Me see Daddy!" Will- What is wrong with the 350Z?
Larry , I do understand about the goal of a business, and my place (included or excluded) in a target market as a potential customer (tripple major, Finance, Economics and Marketing). The message I was refering to was the design relationship to the 240Z. I do appologize for not making that clear. I do understand what you are saying, I simply don't get the design connections(sans the tripple gages in center of the dash) that are present in the 350Z that relate it to the 240Z. If it isn't too complicated or time intensive on your part to point them out(or tell me where they are) I would like to know what design elements are shared between a 350Z and a 240Z. Thanks, Will- priming the car
Depending on the condition of the car, I would wait to strip it until you are ready to do the work and get the project on the fast track, there is no point is stripping ot to coat it to have to strip it again. If you are serious about chemical dipping, most of the baths offered will prevent flash rust until the chemicals are cleaned off. The best long term answer to keeping a stripped body from rusting is paint-even a couple of thin coats of the cheepest white you can find. Will- What would you do?
Install the l28 to enjoy, keep the L24 to rebuild and show(when you have had enough of the go) Will- Light covers or not?
I think headlight covers help the look of the car-I believe it was designed for them. I wouldn't use the tinted variety becasue I want as much light as I can get from my headlights. I also prefer britework around the lenses. Will- New member here - long time enthusiast
Welcome! You should be able to find a nice Z in Texas! Help is in the archives, the treads and most of all, in the members! There is a diverse group here, and all happy to share their knowledge! Will- What is wrong with the 350Z?
I am trying very hard not to come to the conclusion that at Nissan design is primarily done for designers and not for people, but when you give me information like that I feel I am pretty effectively limited to that conclusion. I fully agree that I am unskilled in your field, and do not have the form vocabulary, but I thought Nissans design guys were designing the message for those of us that have not been through design school. I know this isn't the case, but it almost appears that the public isn't supposed to decipher the message-that, or somehow I missed the design sence everyone else has. Obviously, I don't know the code, so I can't see the message. WIll- What is wrong with the 350Z?
Larry, I agree with that statement completely, but as I said essentially in an earlier post, if my son came out looking more like Rick than me, my friends and I would have wondered if I "contibuted to his development". Any story from my wife would be questionable-the proof is in the results-if you will. The lack of any characteristics that are not more Audi than S30, shows me there was slight of something! I can understand that the development changed in the middle, and the assignment of "here it is, deal with it", what I don't understand is why the 350Z wasn't incorporated into the marketing scheeme by giving it a few easily recognizeable S30 ques. It is a case of one hand being completely disconnected from the other-completely contrary to the Demming Management Method. If the marketing people had asked that the quarter windows and emblem placement and shape(purely as an example)the relationship would have been apparent-and Rick would not be in trouble-at least not with meROFL ! Will- I call it the ZB9
It is a cool idea-probably more fun than I should have relative to the work I have this week! Will- Calling 26th-z and others
I wasn't sure whether to welcome you back or run for cover! Now it looks like a welcome is the right thing. WELCOME! I have pared down the extraneous projects until the car is actually complete (though several will be a part of finishing it(hatch hinge boots, hard line insulators and brackets, etc). I am in the process of getting the car ready for paint-only final bodywork on the shell, and prepping the appendages is left, I am taking my time, and verifying everything at least ten different times with time between to remove my expectations from what I actually see before I paint. Will- What is wrong with the 350Z?
Not with ony one dealership and one manager(one Mike?)! I am having a hard time seeing a bumperless 240Z front end resembling the 350Z front end because of the early long hood and later short hood as pointed out by Daddz-any chance of a captured post. Will- I call it the ZB9
I think you have... Photoshop trace and a cut and paste. Will- Heater Function Lever Problem
Sounds like a control cable issue or a frozen door/valve to me to. Take out your radio, follow the frozen cable to the other end, and you will have the answer. The cable system is easy and traightfolward to follow, just a little tough to get to(laying on you back in the footwell with safety glasses on is certianly not as easy as changing the spark plugs!!). Will- Reproduction JDM headlight covers with trim
I hope he gets them made, having a local MFR will go a long way in helpiong that end out. Later today, I will email him and see if he wants the info I had compiled on my efforts. I would love to see these successfully done-even if not my me. Will- Transmission fill Plug
Tony, Where you are will dictate shipping or not, I have an extra, but how close are you to Savanah, Ga. ? Will - What is wrong with the 350Z?
