I use hose removal pliers. The only time I've ever cut them is when I'm removing the hoses from the top of the injectors. (not the side that connects to the fuel rail). I like method two from the link that John posted.

You'd have to make a bracket for the compressor and the hoses would have to be custom made. Not sure that the condenser would fit though I've used 280ZX condensers in S30s.

In 1970, I bought the only brand new car I've ever owned. A 1970 240Z-HLS3000488, 110 red. I traded it in for a 72, also 110 red. I sold that one in 1975 and, although I owned several other Datsuns, I didn't own another S30 until I bought the 1978 that I owned from 1997 to about a year ago. With me, it's not so much tha the Z is special. More so that the Datsun is special. As life turns out, I presently don't own one but I'm always on the lookout.

It might actually run okay. They used that manifold on some of the non US Datsun/Nissan sedans with L engines. And a 38 Weber is probably bigger than the carb they used.

I also invest but I don't and won't discuss that here. This is a car site. That's what I come here for.

I've done it. That is, remove the rotor when I had cars that had rotors.

I changed all of those including to one behind the clutch when I bought my 78 in 1997. No problems at all over the following 12 years. I sold it last year. On a totally unrelated note, when I read the title of this thread, I can't help thinking of the song "DID YOU EVER SEE A DREAM WALKING?" (that will date me!!)

I'm not doubting what you say, I'm just saying that when I looked it up in the Nissan Fast program it showed different part numbers. Kind of a FWIW thing......

5 US Quarts w/fitler, and even though the 78 owners manual says 4 3/4, I'm sure they're all the same. I always used 5 qts in my 78.

Not according to Nissan....they show different part numbers.

11059-P7600 (5 ea.) for the long ones and 11056-P7600 (9 ea.) for the short ones according to Nissan Fast.

E, I have no desire to grow those either.
