Putting single point dizzy or better yet, Petronix on auto tranny Z
would have to think it would be an easy conversion putting single point dizzy and then upgrading to the electronic never done it my self on nissan 6 have changed both of my rotarys to later electronic dizzys and was amazed at the power improvement so i would think it would be a good power move and good for reliability Mick

sandblaster.
you can buy a attachement to go on your compressor its just a hose that goes into a bucket of sand and agun type nozzle that blows sand out is quite good for small areas Our local Autoparts store Repco has them on special every now and then for $30 aus You need to have a clean floor and seperate area to do it so as to be able to sweep up sand and re use it and control dust Mick

H4 headlight replacement
the h4 conversion is really easy and well worth it just for the fact that you get the ability to change globes and not complete head lights when you blow a globe All you have to do is remove headlights put in new h4 cone and glass with new globe i use 100w /65 w fit relays in the circuit to reduce load on switches (well worth doing for the age of the switches anyway) Have tried th new ultra white globes but they where cheap chinese copies and apart from being white light i thought they where dimmer than the standard h4 globes. Accelerator Linkage
throttle linkage just pops off put a screw driver between end of linkage and throttle and prise it off as for the boot from memory it has a groove around it which fits into the hole in the firewall and holds it in place Mick

Ohms Law Explained
george if you leads are cracked or cut and you can see arcing they need replacing Dirty connections and cuts or cracks will actually increase resistance which as such increases the current needed to produce the spark so if your ignition only has so much current leaving the coil the higher resistance lowers your spark at the plug If you can see arcing then the lead has had it the arcing is the spark or pulse taking a shorter path to earth than through the lead so if any spark is getting to the plug i is reduced Mick

Stripping a Z
i find chemical the best way if you want every thing i also use 3m clean and strip wheels when stripping find that and chemical work best for me blasting is excellent for engine bays and hard to get at places but you have to get a professional if you want to do outer panel with blasting due to the possiblity to stretch the metal mick

Racing Harness (Seatbelts)
why dont you try revolution race gear george the local guy down here was a great help to us last year when cams started making a song and dance about haqrness's he ended up telling us our existing ones were ok and missed out on a sale because we thought we had to change them they should be able to get you legal harness's cheaper than sparcos silly thing with our current harness's in the Rx4 is they have no date on them but because they have a E4 on them there ok for as long as we want to use them for the club level we are racing at Regards Mick

dual exhuast?
I luv the rotary for a play car its great parts are cheap have had current motor running for 4 years without a problem ( though have had 2 clutchs in that 4000 km) its pumping out 300 hp as you suggest i miss the grunt of the v8 but you just have to get used to revving the $^!# out of it With the j port it just idles along under 3000 rpm then goes flat till 4000 rpm after that it goes like rocket making power all the way to 8500 with the v8 you can drop revs and still grunt out of the corners but with the rotary you have to keep those revs above 4500 all the time and be ready to change quick Must say at the local track Symons plains im all over the v8s though corners then half way down the back straight there torque kicks in and they pull away (need lower diff ratio that will fix it) Luv reving the rotary and pissing people off with its noise but the v8 great to cruise Mick

dual exhuast?
thats loud gav my Rx4 only reads 113 db and thats loud one event i was in had a motorkhana at the airport afterwards a guy comes up ot me and says how do you make a car sound so sick he thought it was an ultra light taking off when i had my run but then the rotary was spining up to 9500 rpm nice open motorkhana ended up second to a wrx bet a heap of porsches and evo's and other wrx's Must say i luv the rotary sound pisses so many people off. has anyone had problems fitting new door rubber seals on their 240z's?
i bought some universal dor seal rubber and found it too tight to shut doors it was the one recomended for a 240z ended up buying the next size down in the range and putting the wide seal at the top for the glass area to seal on and the smaller rubber on the bottom so the door shut firmly but not too tight has worked good you dont need to buy special rubber for this as it is a common rubber door seal used on heaps of cars should be able to go to rubber specialist and get a size similiar to the orginal Mick

dual exhuast?
from what i have been told the 2.25 is as good as you need for a std to mild motor i know i ran one on mine with a 260 motor it went really well had HM extractors then center muffler and rear muffler but it was loud 95.8 db sounded great when i was young and stupid no need for a stereo Have since sold extractors to a guy who has them in a 260 with 2.25 system and it sounds good (think his mufflers are much better than the straight through ones i was running) its quite with a nice throaty growl when you accelerate. Must say i was suprise by how quite my v8 was straight out of the extractors just run twin 2" off that to single muffler it quiter than any 6 but yiou know its an 8 Mick

Racing Harness (Seatbelts)
george you want to check the date on the harness as with cams new rules they only have specified life some 2 years some 3 years and others 5 years so you need to make sure there as new as possible if you plan on competing at any time this date crap is a real pain in the butt at the moment Know guys who had harness used fro targa once a year and had to upgrade them because they where 3 years old. good idea to check the cams manual for mounting points though the bottom should be ok just using old seat belt mount. its the back ones that are thre problem Mick

The Fast and The Furious
who needs spark plugs in the exhaust for flames my Rx4 13b jport motor will shoot 3 ft flames out the exhaust all you need is to rev it to 9400 rpm then back off real quick warms everyone up at the khanacrosses. The fast and furious movies are fun i reckon just worry about these kids and the fact you just buy the parts to go faster take all the modifing and fun out of cars i reckon. Mick
