  1. I'm not an intelligent smartphone user but when I first got my phone I googled classic z cars, went to the website and logged in without any trouble. Then I book marked as a favorite and it saved my info for future visits. Are you going to the website or using the app?
  2. That's funny! Is this what it's supposed to look like?
  3. There's no green in the Ford Blue after it's applied, looks different than the cap on the can which matched my motor mount pretty good. Maybe the caps were switched? who knows but it's too late now. Pontiac Blue probably would've been a better choice but I didn't want to drive to the other Advance store. Mine was out of stock and I'm lazy. With the bead blasted aluminium parts against the orange engine bay it's going to look fantastic!! (stay positive) Well after proof reading that I might just get a can of Pontiac Blue and spray it again, when I get back from Memphus.
  4. Luckily mine is drilled also but I am going to put on the spray bar for a minute or 60 to make sure the cam doesn't get scorched on start-up. I've got a rod to spin the oil pump with my drill, that may change my mind if it doesn't look right. Sorry to hear about your setbacks. Frustration is part of being successful, I've read somewhere.
  5. 240s aren't painted and stainless to boot. I'd bet the later 280 arms that are painted, '77 & '78, could be stripped down to bare stainless. Try and see if a magnet sticks to yours then get some paint stripper.
  6. I would think it should go after the throttle plate, on the manifold side. The hose from the cannister like Jonathan mentioned would be my choice.
  7. First couple of coats was Maxwell House blue, then later in the day it turned to Bud Light blue but what I bought was Old Ford Blue. I like blue, Phillip's pretty cool too.
  8. It's like prying into the Waco Kids business, don't want to but "I must, I must!"
  9. Yeah, she's my "Pride and Joy". It dulled down a little, that was right after the last coat was sprayed on. I think I matched it to the color of my beer bottle pretty darn close, subconsciously.
  10. Are you using a spray bar or a drilled cam, or both? I like your valve cover's inspection window/ garage door.
  11. I'm calling it a day until after ZCON. Have some things to do other than the Zs, and I need to look at some different cars other than mine. BORED
  12. It not a factory color is what jumps out at me, lessens' value. I like originality for that much money.
  13. I've looked at Black Dragon's catalog, page 55, they show the engine side for $55. Called my Nissan parts guy and he says there none from Nissan on both hoses. I was telling him about MSA having them and he said they probably get them formed up at some type of hydraulic hose business for resale. Maybe worth a phone call to a local hose shop to see if they could form some up for you? Good luck.
  14. From the article I remembered a girl I dated in high school whose Dad had a TR8. He let me drive it a couple of times and that was hoot. Very quick little car. Now he's passed away and I'm thinking I might try and find out where it is. Thanks for the link and jarring my memory
  15. Looks good Steve! Did you use the MN47 head? Just noticed the block off plate is why I ask. Ready to see and hear some video of 3rd gear chirps.
  16. Anybody know off the top of their head what's the thinnest a head can be before it needs shimming?
  17. Jump a train to Memphis. You gotta go!
  18. I'm thinking (looking at the picture) you have heater hose for high pressure fuel line going into the fuel rail, not good. It looks the same as the 2 smaller ones on the heat plate for the thermal vacuum switch. It may be okay for now but I've read that heater hose deteriorates with fuel, possibly getting into your injectors and clogging them up.
  19. Good advice. I've done more than I ever thought with 280 valves, more trouble I mean.
  20. He thought he'd figured a way out of cutting the grass, you gave him a hug! That's great.
  21. I like your break in procedure. Break it in like you drive it, I learned that with V6 Mercury outboards, run them hard for 1,320 feet and idle back to the trailer. I wish I had've been easier on my body though, my suspension's shot to hell. Oh well, that's why I have a doctor.
  22. I would google that then click images or look at the wiring schematics for your year at xenons.com.
