  1. I just got back from a post hibernation drive. Cranked right up on the 3rd turn of the key. The float chambers were empty I'm sure from evaporation. After 30 seconds or less the oil gauge was up and I left out driving slow through the neighborhood but no stumble at all. Ran great! Never had a warm up issue and my heat/coolant line through the carbs is bypassed. Mine run best cooler. 3 screw round tops adjusted right are solid as a rock.
  2. They came with my rebuild kit from ztherapy. My car runs very well them but honestly that's all I've ever had with a rebuilt motor and carbs. Nothing to compare against. Somewhere on their website it says they're a good all around needle.
  3. Yeah, turn the volume up or get a louder exhaust. Temp and oil pressure gauges keep an eye on, and as long as it's moving you're good.
  4. That be funny as hell to see. A car in a museum on jack stands. Do it!
  5. I remember a CJ7 jeep a friend's older sister had with the Levi's interior. It was red with that blue interior.
  6. Sounds like the bcdd to me too. Black from bcdd to w/b with butt connector. W/b goes into the harness under the coil.
  7. Yes, welcome to the forum. Nice cars! Really like the Z. My neighbor has a Camaro like the one in your photo above. I'm pretty sure it's an Indy Pace Car too. Seems like he said they were 5 floating around? I'll try and get a picture and post it up for you.
  8. I'm towards the end! This quarantine upped my start time.
  9. Sorry, not to being in disagreement but I always use google. Make sure and put classiczcars.com at the end though. The forum search has way too many results for me to read. I hope the forum makes some money from google too.
  10. Futofab.com

We can't enter any municipal building with a pocket knife in my city. We go through metal detectors. How in the hell did these idiots get away with this? They'd be shot dead here entering with guns and mask covering their faces.
  12. My '77 does the same, whinning spinning noise until I push the clutch pedal down. Zed Head knows way more than me on these cars especially transmissions. I can say this from my personal experience. I drove the throwout bearing on using the old one as I had read online. I had the throwout bearing pressed on the collar at a machine shop on my 240. No noise, same clutch kit. Just putting that out as more info.
  13. This looks good, to me. https://scranton.craigslist.org/cto/d/chinchilla-1971-datsun-240z/7117771383.html $17,500
  14. That's what I'd call a "hot mess". $800 would be very fair IMO.
  15. Can you not reverse your muffler so the outlet is on bottom? I'm sorry but I haven't read the whole thread just the last few post. My Dynomax from MSA looks like this. My biggest complaint is how low the pipe fits under the rear crossmember. 240s have a smaller cut-out and my 2.5" won't tuck up nicely like my 280's does.
  16. Here's a good buy at $350 Shipping to me is $200 at least so I'm out. https://lansing.craigslist.org/pts/d/leslie-vintage-1974-datsun-260z/7111336931.html
  17. I have to apologize, just waking up and getting some coffee flowing but I realize the plates will also raise the bushing. Anyway, I say just tighten them down. That front sway bar is a real booger bear to put on by yourself. I used a jack to hold one side up while bolting the other side.
  18. You should have two plates that go under that bracket onto the frame. They'll make up a little distance for you. Just tightening them down will be fine.

Banging pots and pans is cheaper.
  20. There's been some "end tails" on that seat, large too IMHO. Kind of squashed huh?

I just saw the WH is preventing Dr Fauchi from briefing some kind of Senate committee. What's up? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2020/05/01/congress-fauci-coronavirus/%3foutputType=amp
  22. I remember Fastwoman bought a fuel one way check valve from "sam the diesel man" on ebay. Many years ago but you might find him still. Good luck.
  23. I always use full choke on the first crank and let it run until it starts to stumble. This fills my filter everytime. Have you checked float chamber height lately? Before my filter was always filling, never full. Adjusted the floats and now it fills completely up within a few seconds. This is observed at idle of course. Glad you found a good pump! I run a cheapo GMB too without issue.
  24. I've seen that before too. But I'll be damned if I can find it again, I've tried for 10 minutes. Seems like it was a Z from Arizona? Maybe that's just my brain associating that Southwestern Aztec look?
