  1. I don't see the differnce? I'm sorry, talked too soon. Looks like the cams are of different lengths.
  2. I maybe confused you. Don't pound the plastic covers. The metal ones that go over the castle nut and bearings was what I did. I'm sorry for any confusion. I hope you didn't break the center caps?
  3. But a set of brass core plugs and give them to the machinest. I used Sealed Power I think? This will keep you awake tonight... cylinder piston ring types have different honing/hatching recommendations. I bought chrome faced molly and it's different than steel. Something else to research. It never ends when you get bit by the Z.
  4. I can send you the 2 bottom bolts and nuts that secure the dust cover to the bottom of the tranny pan. Let me know, I can get your address from Phillip.
  5. I tapped my grease caps with a rubber hammer pretty hard until those center caps stayed on. I read on here a few days ago somebody used 1/8" spacers on the front to let them fit without denting the grease caps like I did.
  6. That looks great! Your ideas always go straight to the top. As usual, looks amazing.
  7. And that light weight flywheel. You got your money's worth.
  8. You have my vote! SWMBO has my vote.
  9. I could make those dished pistons with my laptop. You'd do well in politics... Non-unretouched covfefe.
  10. "Satin should be her name"
  11. '77 plate... There is two short bolts with nuts on the bottom but they go through the bell housing too.
  12. I bought a Zx motor too a few years ago. My '77 flex plate had a bigger sort of rounded looking triangle opening for the crank and the starter hole. It has a locating dowel pin thing that holds it on but I'm almost positive the bellhousing bolts and starter bolts are what holds it on. It's sandwiched in between the block and the bellhousing so I don't see how it has any protruding bolt heads. The ZX flex plate has a smaller hole just big enough for the crank's rear to fit through. ZX dust cover...
  13. He probably made some kind of bench out of one for "tailgating" parties???
  14. Shot in the dark but possibly the pcv valve under the manifold is chattering somehow.
  15. I'm bowing out, sorry. Your's is different than mine. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get the answers from the guys on here.
  16. I do have that! You are correct Sir.
  17. My apologies. I was counting the pictures and not even paying attention to the numbers he painted in. It's #3, that's the one that confused me (still does). Our '73 man, @Zup will know.
  18. Quebec I see. And I'll guess the #110 '73.
  19. My '72 doesn't have that. Your's looks like it could be a vacuum for the brake booster? I'm wrong, I see your's now. What year is your car? Country? It has some things I've never seen.
  20. I plugged mine but I live in a hot climate and it lives in a garage that never gets too cold. Lessened the leak potential was my reason. It had no effect that I've noticed, car runs great. Plugged off the coolant line where it all starts on the passenger's side, then plugged the intake closest to the windshield, left the connecting tube in between the intakes, plugged the front intake closest to the radiator and finally the thermostat housing
  21. The oil pan flats are 2 piece. Remember the oil pan bolts are different lengths. The short ones go in the block holes that are exposed looking from the top. Hold on! I may be wrong on those bolts. Seems to make more sense the longer ones would go through the flat pieces. Count the holes of the flats vs # of long bolts. I had a hell of a time with my oil pan leaking while it was still on the engine stand. I over tightened them once at least. Get a loaner inch pound torque wrench from a chain store. If you want to clean some stuff cheap and easy get some walmart Great Value foam oven cleaner. For all my piston assemblies, rod caps and what ever else from the inside I used lacquer thinner and some brass wire toothbrush looking things, also some real tooth brushes.
  22. True. Distance has a lot to do with this particular model to. Trying to keep it on the same spot and get a photo is tough. I use it at the restaurant to argue my point. Temperatures will get us in trouble with the health lady.
