'77 280 wiper question
Do they look like these? I got theses of a junkyard car. Not sure of the year but they very similar to my 240's.

'77 280 wiper question
Man I love that car! They're definitely going to need clear satin/matte. I got a magnet about 3" from the arm and it about pulled it out of my hand. 8^) Don't know where I'm thinking stainless from? I read so much gibberish on the internet. Thanks Doc.

'77 280 wiper question
I've sandblasted the black paint of my 280's wiper assembly. Looks to be stainless like the 240s. I just now thought to see if a magnet will stick. But anyway should I clear coat them or just wipe them with Never Dull wadding? I don't want them to rust. Thanks for any replies and sorry for jumping on here so quick. I'll try a magnet right now. Thanks, Cliff.

Duffy's 1/71 Series 1 240z build
I'm going to be a little nosey here but I've done two tanks with Red-Kote and muratic acid. If you don't mind saying, how much did it cost? You could send me a PM or just not respond and I completely understand. I have had a couple of offers to do this for a guy and one of his buddies. I know the cost of materials but no idea what to charge for labor. Thank you, Cliff.

1977 280Z with 81-83 engine, persistent 2000-2500rpm high idle
I was thinking you yanked that coolant line? The one that goes around the front of the head and to the thermostat housing? Maybe that was someone else. It goes to a warming plate under the AAR. I took mine off, along with the thermal vacuum switch that's connected to it. That is where the vacuum line goes coming off the BCDD if I remember right. But then you open another can of worms with the BPT and EGR.

Pros and cons of a triple Weber carb conversion
Maybe someday! I need to build that E31 then see if my SUs will keep it happy. Diseazed has some hot motors with SUs so I'm thinking they'll be fine. Who knows until I get there? Thanks 240260280.

1970 240z Series 1 - Atlanta - GA ($975)
I think that's a reasonably priced parts car. E31 and probably 4 screws carbs. Steering wheel and shift knob look original. I bet it's got the clean balance tube too. Getting it on a trailer without breaking in half would tough. Someone local will snatch that up pretty quick I think.

Pros and cons of a triple Weber carb conversion
Here's the complete setup if you decide to go with triples. I have a mostly stock motor and the SUs do just fine for my Sunday drive. https://zcardepot.com/weber-carburetor-triple-40-dcoe-conversion-kit.html

Just found for sale 72 z automatic
Didn't read the article but I believe the 260 were the first 4 seaters. Was yoga even a thing that long ago? I'd love to see some fur burgers in yoga pants. Be like a Big Mac down there.

That appears to be a good buy. Snatch it up!

240s have automatic transmissions. Member DJ Warner has one, as does Stanley, another member. Those two right off the bat and I'm sure there's others.

spare hold down question
I'm going to use this side down. Like Alan's picture, the opposite side looks like new. So thank you all for the replies. This has been an interesting thread in my opinion, I'm sure it's been covered before my joining the forum though. Thank you all again, I love this forum and all the knowledge you guys are willing to share. Cliff

I'm slowly (oh so slowly) getting ready for North Georgia's ZCON next year. I have the mechanical side done now for the sparkle. "She's only rock and roll", mine's gonna say "She's gonna drive me to drinking".

Speedometer Cable Grommet 1972 240Z
Could/would you make a slit in the old with an Exacto type razor blade and put it on the new cable? Maybe rub some black silicone to cover the slit.

It's the car's color, blue. I have the one for the front. I think they call them bumper fillers? Looks exactly like this one. https://www.ebay.com/i/272496303780?chn=ps&dispItem=1

Head coating: jet hot vs ceracote vs MSA
I know some company makes them then sends them to Embee Coatings in Santa Ana, CA for the ceramic coating. You might call Embee and see if they'll say? http://www.embeeperformance.com/

That's the reason my door guards are still on. There's pop rivets holding them so those holes would look bad if i removed them. One day I'll get it painted then have them welded up. Mine are faded and look horrible up close, I've thought about painting them by hand to match my graphite Rewinds I have now.
