  4. Look on ebay. I picked one up for a steal. It was like brand new. Very Happy.
  5. Splash pad were standard on the 260z.Two of my bolts have broken off. I thought the fan shroud came on all A/C equipped cars.
  6. Mine rolled over about a 2 years ago. It showing 1100 as of last weekend.
  7. That's one fine looking Z car. I know you will take good of her.
  8. Don't like any of them. I'm an old school guy, 1ST choice Panasports 15x7, 2ND choice Minilites.
  9. I need a center cap (Metal) for one of my Rims. One of them got damaged, in a minor traffic accident back in the mid eighties. My wife was driving the Z but it wasn't her fault. I'm looking for one with no rust. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  10. I totally agree with last two posts. I just didn't want to bring that up. A really nice 260 is hard to find. I attended a Car Show this past weekend, a guy said, Nice Z Car, 260 never seen one. It looks like a 240.
  11. If I had a choice, I would pick a 72 240 or a 78 280 (5 speed). Color choice blue, silver, or white.
  12. By the location of where someone would sit, you only have about 21" of clearance. This would be ok for a cooler, but that's about it. Very Unsafe in my opinion.
  13. I was driving down the highway at app. 3200 rpm's and suddenly my Tach drops to 2500 rpm's. The engine speed remains the same speed. Is this a Tach or coil problem. Doesn't the Tach receive a pulse from the negative terminal on the coil. Both the coil and the Tach. are originial to the car. The drop on rpm's last about 15 seconds then jumps back up. At first I thought it was a loose wire at the coil, but I don't see a problem there. This problem doesn't happen all the time.
  14. Take the cam from the 260 head and put it in the 240. The 260z has the best stock cam of the L series heads. Plug all the emission control junk.
  15. Correction The headlight covers were $120,installed $6.00, Total $126.00 Purchased 8/19/76.
  16. The headlight covers in post # 10 are like the ones I got from the Datsun dealer in 1977. Mine are starting to show ther age,but very nice. The Z guys always asking, where you get those headlight covers from. The dealer charged me $ 160 installed, but that was a lot in 1977.
  17. How do I clean the bumper trim on my early model 260,or do I just replace it. Better yet do I look for some 240z bumpers. When I attempt to clean the trim ,my rag comes out black.
  18. Zedyone Your car looks awesome,I wish my Z looked that good. There is nothing,I would change on your car. Great looking car. It also sounds good. No busting out with the Webers.
  19. Nice Z,love white, also like the blue interior.
  20. Gave her a wax job, going to a cruise-in tonight. Love driving the Z.
  21. What intake were you running with the SU's. I assume you only sent the SU's to Bruce, not the intake.
  22. It's hard to believe it was the intake, that mystery is still out there. It would be great to swap carbs on another Z car to see what happened. Those webers would sound good with a set of air horns. I will never forget driving a 260 with a set of webers, because we were racing a 911s. The Z had a different cam, headers, and some head work had been done. The 911 got us by a half car length. The Z had stock 4 speed.
  23. I've Followed this tread since day one. All I can say is Wow. I'm glad this problem is behind you now. For all the h_ _ _ you been through, Bruce needs to give you a new rebuilt set of SU''s.
  24. I have about 12 1lb cans on hand. Didn't know R12 was that high.
  25. Please, let this thread RIP.
