Demand for correct 240z Bumpers
I would be interested in correct chrome bumpers. Front and rear.

Do you like your Z car club's Website?
Thanks Bill. I'll check it out. I've used WordPress in the past. That might be an option.

Do you like your Z car club's Website?
I am looking for your feedback. We want to revamp our club's website. I'm not talking about THIS website; I'm talking about our regional club site, www.zroc.org. Does your club have a website that you like? What do you like about it? What do you dislike? Does your site allow members to post articles and updates? Do you know what software your club uses? Please include your club's web address I'd like to check it out. Thanks, Keith

I spy a z!
Its very rare to see these cars around here. Today around 11:30am, I saw a brown 280z driving east on Hayden Run Road in Hilliard, Ohio. I was traveling in the opposite direction. I beeped and gave a thumbs up though my windshield, but I don't think the driver saw me. Was it you?

[2012] What did you do to/with your S30 today?
On the way home from Jiffy Lube (post above), I saw these two other red cars in the school parking lot near my house. So I pulled in and chatted with the owners. It looked like a red-import-car gathering. The guy with the Alfa has owned it since '78.

[2012] What did you do to/with your S30 today?
Today I took the car to Jiffy Lube for transmission and differential lube. I have read too many horror stories of those who have removed the drain plug, but could not remove the fill plug, so I decided to simply let them do it. No problems with the plugs, but the diff lube was really bad. It was probably the original lube.

What is the most stock-sounding exhaust?
OK. In an effort to just have "something", I went to a local muffler shop and they installed a stock-looking round muffler that is a little larger than the original (they said everything else was OK). It is too quiet. It sounds like a Prius. Well, maybe not that quiet. I'm going to live with this for a while and see if I like it.

Spook mounting
I have a fiberglass front valance from Les. It fits great and looks very original, but without the rust that came with the metal ones in Ohio!

What is the most stock-sounding exhaust?
Arne, thanks for the advice. I'm pretty sure my downpipe is fine. On the muffler, the chrome tip actually broke off in my hand the other day and it became much louder. I don't want the car to be "loud", but I do want it to sound "good". I have an Altima SE-R (VQ35DE V6) that is my daily driver and it has an amazing exhaust note. It idles quietly, but has a nice low rumble as you drive, and gets menacingly loud if you get on it. I wish the 240z could sound like that. I've thought about a 14X7 round Magnaflow (14715) for the muffler, and a 22X4 Magnaflow (10435) for the pre-muffler with 2.25" pipe.

What is the most stock-sounding exhaust?
djwarner, Really? I thought I had checked quite a while ago with no luck. I just sent another email to my parts guy at my local dealership. Thanks. Edit: Just heard back from Bob at Buckeye Nissan. No 240z mufflers available.

Zcon 2012
Yes. Keep the pictures coming. I wish I could be there. Putting your ClassicZcars.com user name on your badge is a great idea. I talked to Madkaw for quite a while at a show this past summer and didn't even realize it was him until he recognized a post where I mentioned his car the following week! Have fun everyone.

What is the most stock-sounding exhaust?
In the BD catalog, both of the mufflers are available for the 280z, with what looks like an integrated tail pipe. The routing of the tail pipe looks wrong for the 240z. Anyone know if that works for the 240z?

What is the most stock-sounding exhaust?
OJ, The Black Dragon catalog only has a gasket for the 240z. I'm going to need more than that.

What is the most stock-sounding exhaust?
My original exhaust is sorely in need of replacement. Is there a muffler and pre-muffler available that replace the original with a stock look and sound?

Introducing my '73 240z
Just so you know.... That old-fashioned fresh air vent only works when the car is in motion. Air just blows in from the front of the car through those black plastic tubes on the right and left front corners of your engine compartment, through a channel in the fender and into the cabin. Unless of course, your car has been in storage a long time and the entire air channel is filled with a mouse nest.

Automobile Magazine October 2012 Issue - Datsun 240Z vs Scion FR-S Article
Nice article. It would have been nice if they had used a better sorted Z. (Backfiring, running rich, smell of petrol, etc.) Nevertheless, I like what Subaru and Toyota have produced here. Too bad we don't have access to a 40-year old FRS .

1973 240z build, need help
Alex, you've got your work cut out for you, but you did ask way back at the beginning "... would there be anywhere that sells nut/bolts/washer kits for specific locations on the car?" Here's a link to a place where I've purchased nuts and bolts. They sell sets for different parts of the Z: http://www.mmsacc-stainless.com/html/Datsun.htm Good Luck!

Air box for my 6 throttle bodies??
Steve (Madkaw), It was nice to meet you at the show. I wish I would have known it was you. Sometimes I think we need to wear name tags with our Classiczcars.com screen names when we go to these shows. By the way, awesome airbox. I think I told you that on Friday! Keith
