  1. They just went into the glove box in the car to ensure they make the trip.
  2. Zold to the man up north. I'll hold them for the Austin party! No loonies accepted. Z'ya soon.
  3. If you had bought replacement hatch hinge boots from Nissan years ago, they would have come with these plates that keep the boot from deforming when the hinge is bolted up. The S30 Fairlady fiche correctly shows the boot as an assembly while the online parts catalog does not. The new aftermarket boots available now do not come with these plates and if you're swapping out to new boots, the old plates on your car may be in rough shape. Note that these are not shims (P/N 90407-E4100) of which there may be as many as four on a car. These came off my car (I came by a set of new ones) and are in great shape, newly replated, a correct L/R set. There is no P/N for these items as they were not sold separately. $25 includes shipping within CONUS.
  4. Unicorn: a mythical animal typically represented as a horse with a single straight horn projecting from its forehead. Alt.: a rare Datsun part, usually made of unobtanium. For Sale: Rare Nissan Fan Shroud for 240Z. This is P/N 21475-E4102, a fully reconditioned metal fan shroud to fit the OE radiator frame of a 240Z. This one was stripped to bare metal, acid washed to provide a protective layer of zinc phosphate, two coats of self-etching primer - wet sanded to remove dust, ...etc., two coats of gloss black enamel, wet sanded and buffed. A set of new bolts and washers, newly plated, is included (not JIS). Why all the prep detail? I was planning to install this on my car but determined it was handling the Texas heat just fine with the 3-row radiator core. The last one to sell on JDMCarParts.com went for $500. https://jdm-car-parts.com/…/metal-fan-shroud-for-240z-genui… This one is priced at $400, shipping extra at actual cost.
  5. Here's another rescue and refurb item: a complete 240Z glove box door assembly. The logo has been repainted, also the metal hinge plate and right side swing arm have been cleaned and repainted in satin black. The door has a 1" boomerang shape scar on the lower right corner plus a small ding to the left of it. Both are low enough not to be readily visible. The inner panel is in great condition - NO DAMAGE to the hinges. The remnant of the key code sticker is on the panel, its up to a new owner to decide what to do with it. The lock striker is newly replated. All screws and washers are included. It will be shipped knocked down - some assembly required. It may not be a concours-level piece but it will look very good in a driver. $85 includes shipping within CONUS.
  6. When you tarted up that S30 valve cover, did you take care of all of the details such as fittings? If not, here's what you need to complete the effort: a full set of valve cover bolts, and plug wire brackets and bolts - all freshly replated in yellow zinc. Only one set available. $45 includes shipping within CONUS.
  7. Its sold and yes, clear zinc is correct for most everything aft of the firewall. A notable exception is the gas cap and collar. Thanks for telling me I left $ on the table. Actually, I'm not looking to make big money on this stuff - a few bucks for lunch and maybe a decent deal for another enthusiast. That said, I have another unicorn that may get posted if it does not sell locally. It won't be cheap.
  8. Swap out your rusty, nasty hatch lock and striker with this freshly replated set. Fits all S30's. $35 includes shipping within CONUS.
  9. Dress up your engine bay a bit with this polished flow guide valve with its freshly replated bracket and screws. The OE hose clamps are included. $25 includes shipping within CONUS.
  10. I have two Nissan OHC valve covers from 240Z parts cars - one cover I personally removed from the engine of a 07/72 car. This cover matches the one on my car. The other cover was in the back of a 12/71 car and I presumed it came from that engine. Today I noticed two differences in the second cover: (1) the center section with Nissan OHC is raised the length of the cover to the oil filler neck and (2) the holes for the bolts to secure the plug wire brackets are smaller (the bolts and brackets were not on the cover). In checking the parts catalog, I find the same P/N for the valve cover across the L24/26/28 series - 13264-P0100. Any help on identifying where the second cover came from? S130? Thanks.
  11. Help is available!
  12. If you recently bought these new rubber bushings, you owe it to the community to share where your found them. These are pretty much in the unicorn category of replacement parts. Thanks.
  13. Steve - as it turns out, we have a member in Denton (school and work!) that might be just the right guy. Time permitting, he's on this forum. I'll contact him to see if he can make some time. Jim
  14. Yeah baby! Looking forward to re-connecting with friends from Memphis and expanding the circle with new CZCC friends.
  15. Definitely a scam. This same ad was recently posted in the Lancaster PA CL and just pulled for fraud. The poster claims to be a female military officer in Hawaii with the car stored in the US at a base.
  16. Not my car but my fellow club member's cars at Autorama for our annual display. This year it is a set of six amaZing Z32's. The convertible is a TT + 5-speed transplant replacing the stock NA + automatic. The red car is a 2009 ZCCA Gold Cup car. The green car is a 17k miles gem to be shown at ZCON Austin in the Stock class. The blue car is a LS swap. The black car is Nissan certified as one of the final 300 units produced in 1996. The white car is a full track car set-up.
  17. WOW - did anyone catch the license plate number of that speeding troll? How do you think I was able to keep that pesky silver ball in place during my reassembly?
  18. The "repair" to the TS switch is not technically difficult but it can be a bit exasperating to re-assemble as there is a tiny roller ball inside that a small metal contact plate pivots on. It does not like to stay in place. Don't expect a spray to correct fouled contacts. If you don't want to try this yourself, you can always get a refurbished one from Dave Irwin on an exchange basis. I don't have his contact info, perhaps another member can help out here. Check out some pics of a disassembly here: http://woodworkerb.com/home/datsun-240z-rebuild/240z-turn-signal-switch/
  19. On a 240Z, the TS flasher can is mounted to the steering column above the pedals - the OE can has a metal tab and a small metal screw holds it in place. The hazards flasher can is mounted to the passenger side kick panel.
  20. I drove out to check on this car this afternoon and its every bit as sad as the ad photos suggest. Its a 01/71 car, VIN 19270, last registered in 1988. Lots of rust - floorboards, outer rockers, doglegs, rust and bondo in both rear quarters, rear valance, bottom of hatch. The cowl panel has gaping rust holes. Interior a real mess, inner rockers look to be compromised. The left door was jammed but able to force open so its likely the body is bent. The tires were pretty flat so unable to inspect frame rails. The seller thinks he has a $4k treasure. I suggested the money required to make it a decent car would put owner seriously underwater on finished value. I told him if he's interested in selling it at a parts car price to get back to me - I'm not holding my breath.
  21. The middle pic is a cover recently rescued from a parts car and not yet subjected to my tender touches of cleaning and polishing. The bottom pic is another rescue, now thoroughly cleaned and polished, soon to be marketed to fellow enthusiasts.
  22. Not my car, not my ad. This one popped up not far from me but I've not yet had time to get out to see it. Suffering from a lot of "patina" in all the wrong places. https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/5992192788.html
  23. I was wrong about the o-ring on the 12/71 car. I recalled the groove and thought of o-ring. Here's a sequence starting with my car: 1st pic - 12/70 car, o-ring set into the groove, OIL cap with no seal ring 2nd pic - 12/71 car, open groove, elephant cap with seal gasket ring 3rd pic - 07/72 car, no groove, elephant cap with seal gasket ring Hope this helps explain some of the changes.
