Racing Tire Recommendations, Please
toyo RA-1. Apparently quite similar to the kumho V70's. I also read a rumour on an american autocross board that the Falken fk451's are made from the same compound as the more expensive falken azenis rt215. By shaving them prior to trackwork you have a sticky tyre available in a whole bunch of sizes.

Gran turismo 4
Sorry for the late response, havent been home in the past week. I believe the colours of the Zg's are completely random. You can only get the ZG from the All Z manufacturers race. I saved the game before completing the last race and basically reran the final race in B spec mode until I got a white Z. It took me about 2 bloody hours of resetting the playstation, and i occasionally tried different cars etc but I finally got the white. The fairlady Roadster I have only seen once in the used car garage but it was in yellow so i didnt buy it. The watanabe style wheels come up in the 'wheel of the day' section every now and then. There are two watanabe/panasport styles which come up.. one of them is originally from the 240RS road car so it's probably not really a watanabe at all.

Any Aussie members ever have stuff shipped from the US?
I would say it would be well under 100 AUS as well. I have bought stuff form the states ranging from a 180pound wooden crate filled with adjustable struts etc, to smaller packages like nismo grills etc The grill was a similar size and weight (had some other stuff in the package too), and although i ended up getting it shipped for free from chloe@ midwest, she quoted it as around 30-40 dollars airmail. she did however mention, she was lucky to get the grill to fit inside the box, any larger and the shipping costs become greater. p.s. whilst i was signing off for the 180 pound wooden crate, the fedex bloke told me anything greater than 250AUS value gets taxed.

Compliance Plates
I rang up the RTA about this very issue the other day. All they are concerned with is the compliance plate. Anything pre 1973 doesnt have nor require a compliance plate. The only thing they check on pre 1973 cars is the actual VIN stamping on the firewall. That being said, anyone know where to get replacement factory plates?

15" Rewinds
Both z32 calipers and brembo 4 pistons can be squeezed under 15 inch rims. It depends on your rim design( spoke design, internal rim diamater) and rotor size. *keyword being 'squeeze' The konigs look like a great bargain! thinking of getting some as a second set of wheels.

Spirit Garage race car
Thank you so much. I walked 1 hour in the rain to go to spirit garage the last time I was in Japan.[tip for future punters, catch a taxi!] Unfortunately, the racecar is kept elsewhere, but the lovely owner of the workshop and his wife gave me several mementos of my visit! These pictures have made me a very happy man! cheers Alan.

Anyone in Oz used Victoria British?
the too intense restoration ones form a tight seal on the parts i have installed. The difference being, they are just more fiddly to install. I'd say the best would be the OEM rubbers, but im not sure how to get those in australia. Failing that, get the precision seals from Warren at allzparts- which seem to cost the same as OEM seals anyway- it gets up to 1000 AUS for the whole lot.

Anyone in Oz used Victoria British?
oops sorry didnt see this thread. I ended up getting most of my gear from midwest Z (which is now not very happening). I was a bit worried there for a moment because chloe went AWOL around the same time my package was shipped! I did however end up getting some headlight and rear taillight gaskets from victoria british. I'm not sure on the exact prices and details etc since I got them through nixcars, but they arrived and have been installed. Nick did mention something about the shipping being a bit over the top, so i decided to go with MWZ to ship my mesh grill and weatherstripping. The weatherseal kit I got from midwest is the 185US dollar complete weatherseal kit. It comes with door, front windscreen, hood, two piece hatch, rear hatch glass quarter window inner and outer seals. Quality wise they are just bits of rubber. Ive only fitted the rear quarter windows thus far, and they fit fine. The door seals do not come with the welting that comes on the precision rubbers, hence you have to use glue to fix them to the doors, if your original OEM welting is missing. They are also a strip of rubber as opposed to a connected door shape rubber. I have a spare front OEM windscreen rubber and comparing it to the same rubber in my 17pc package, the quality difference is noticeable. The cuts in the 17pc kit are rougher, and the rubber seems to be softer. the 17pc kit also does not include the short rubbers that are placed on the front of the doors. I have since gone and talked to warren at Allzparts in sydney. The seals he sells i don't believe are OEM seals. They are "made by the same company that makes the oem seals". And from what i saw, they look exactly the same as the precision seals sold on ebay. The precision door seals do come with doorwelting so no glue is required. Im probably going to go for a set of those, namely since i couldnt be bothered arsing around with the glue, and also because I can get free shipping from US via the missus. It's a shame midwest Z doesnt seem to work anymore, Chloe was a brilliant help and even gave me my shipping for free since she took so long to reply to my email! I still got done by customs. p.s. if anyone is interested, I will have an excess of certain weatherseals in a month's time. namely, the el cheapo door seals, a front windscreen seal (oem or el cheapo depending on which i use), and two inner quarter window rubbers.

weather stripping, rubber kits etc..
I will have some spare new rubbers soon. namely: - front windscreen - door weatherseals x2 The allzpart weatherseals come out to around 1000 bucks all up. And from what i've seen, they use the same 'precision' brand seals u see on ebay - which is different again to the "complete 17pc weatherseal kit" which is 175US. I've got a bit of both.

ZG flair copy's in Australia
Ashley, where abouts in Japan did you buy those flares from? I just picked up a 2nd hand set from Spirit Garage last week.. It was an absolute bastard to get there by foot in the rain ... but i eventually got there . The owner was very nice and I think he felt sorry for my sopping wetness, and gave me a photo of his racecar as well as some stickers, and an interior console!. Shall post some pics when I return. [if i can get the bastards to fit in my suitcase]

All Japan Fairlady meeting
Ah crap! If i had known about this gathering I would have tried to attend! I was already lamenting the fact that I miss the historic car festival at Nagano, by a few days. At the moment I have been spending a week in Yamagata, which is a lovely place. Will attempt the trek to Gunma-ken in the next few days to visit Spirit garage, City auto and (Mt Akina just because I can).
