  1. Took her out for a quick photoshoot. Car is running very nice. Still waiting for a dash so the interior is incomplete, but otherwise she is just about finished.
  2. Thanks! Finally got the air cleaner back from the powdercoat shop. Turns out they were shut down for a week as one of the employees had COVID, thus the delay. Now just waiting for radiator decals and engine bay is complete.

Not trying to be contentious here, but the 'deaths climbing' will always be a fact of life for any statistic of living things. When the number of deaths does not climb we have either A) ALL achieved immortality B. the resurrection of the dead is happening in real time or C) the Zombie apocalypse is upon us. One of my 'pet peeve' phrases.
  4. Still waiting on the new dash from vintage dash and air cleaner from the powder coat shop. Threw the old dash in for now so I could get the motor running. 20200802_163644.mp4
  5. She's Orange! Nice to have the paint done. Will dry and then get color sand. This might be at my place in a couple weeks. I am so ready.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/more-likely-die-cancer-covid-160541140.html Can't believe the editors let this one out the door.
  7. Thanks, actually they are a bit to stiff to handle the curves though. I had to break them into smaller pieces. That white 1/4" plastic molding is actually perfect. It flexes nicely. I think that was left over from some home improvement project. If I did this a lot, I would get some more of the plastic molding.
  8. Lots of progress this weekend. Got the headliner and pillar vinyl installed. Windshield and exhaust system also installed.
  9. Thanks, most of the parts were there. I just clean'em up, re-plate stuff, or re-paint, then assemble. I like jdm-car-parts.com for parts that I have to replace.
  10. Things are moving along now. Headliner should arrive today, so should have that installed tonight and windshield in on Saturday. Also waiting for Dash, exhaust system and air cleaner.
  11. Sav-On plating in Phoenix. Cassandra is my contact there.
  12. FINALLY! Orange paint. This is great to see. Parts are ready to install as soon as she arrives at my place. Still probably going to be a few weeks. Needs final body paint and color sand and polish.

Looking through the San Diego data, I was surprised by some of the numbers. Very eye opening. Not a single death for those 19 and under for all of San Diego county. That's incredible. 86% of the deaths are of those 60 and older.

The local Patch.com site has the numbers by City for San Diego County. It's a good reference for hot spots.

Nice chart tools on this site. I put CA and NY next to each other and got a pretty interesting graphic. I am betting this is how things end up in CA. For CA, Texas and Florida, the ramp up the curve has started and is pretty unstoppable due to the sheer number of infected people. It will play out like NY and NJ unfortunately.
  16. How incredibly sad ?. He will be greatly missed. Always enjoyed my conversations and time with him. Just one story: It always amused me that at the ZCON judged shows (and other car shows) he would walk around and touch parts, open doors, turn lights off and on, etc. Nobody else could get away with that but him. In fact most consider it an honor that he handled the cars.
  17. I tape to the edge, slightly over. If I go too far over, I trim off excess with a razor blade. Also use the razor blade a lot...for clean-up and trimming. Have it attached to a magnet on my tool box.
  18. I clean it with NEVR-DULL, then tape over before I spray. I use the NEVR-DULL on a number of items.
  19. I use these two: Ford Dark Shadow Gray and then spray over that with matte clear. This is what Les at Classic Datsun Motorsports recommended.
  20. Hi Carl, Thanks for the feedback. Yes, guess I will have to change out those fuel clamps. They are pretty cool though and somewhat rare. Was not sure when they changed those out. The clamp colors are a bit of a question as they seem to have changed over time. I should probably talk to Les Cannady to get the scoop on those, or Jim Frederick. Even so, It still irritates me that most of my clamps have the hex heads which are the knock-offs. It's hard to find these with the original pan-heads.
  21. Yes, I am afraid to drive them when it's a customers car. This one is mine, so I am not so worried. I can always build another one. Got a lot of stuff done over the holiday. Got the radiator re-cored with a three row core. Also got the fuel tank lined, cleaned up and installed. Put most of the fuel tank hoses on. Put in the heater hoses and most of the clamps. Also started putting in panels.
  22. Thanks! Got the front bumper installed. Cleaned up and installed alternator also. Got my hoses in yesterday so I put a couple of them in place. Will start installing clamps on Thursday. Fuel tank is out getting sealed and radiator re-cored. Should get those back early next week. Wrestling with the correct clamp color here. I think fuel and smog get silver zinc and the rest are yellow zinc. May just boil down to which sizes are what color in my parts boxes.
  23. Looks great! A few more pics would be nice, but based on the few pics here I would put it at least in the $20K range .
  24. Here's a few more photo updates. Assembly is moving right along. Sent gas tank and radiator out last week for sealing and re-core. Ordered braided hoses and exhaust parts from Jay. The long poles are the headliner and vintage dash. Hopefully will have this running is a couple weeks.
  25. Thanks! Got the diamond vinyl installed. Way easier re-installing the original than putting in the new stuff. Got this installed in probably 1/4 the time of putting in new vinyl.
