  1. I have done both methods plus just taking the hose off of the filter and spraying fuel in my eyes. (at least I have only done that once).
  2. Very cool! I sure am glad I do not need to smog my 77 here in Seattle, but if I did it would make me tune up my car more often. Good job.
  3. could be the fuel pump. could be clogged lines. Change the filter and perhaps open it up and see what's inside (rust?)
  4. Ya I looked at that already, it shows up to 72 240z. Guess I will e-mail them and see. Thanks
  5. Is there any possibility of getting a new door jamb plate for my 77? it has been missing since I first purchased the car. Funny thing is the rivets are still there
  6. Hell, I will send my parts to him for that price.
  7. I really think unless you are REALLY lucky you are going to start with a cracked dash problem. I would be more concerned with rust. Anyhow the dash looks pretty good to me, Carpet looks a little off to me but over all a nice looking car. I would take a look see under the car, check the lower wheel wells, doglegs and floor pans for rust. Edit: also though many do not like the 280z bumpers those look like they are in really good shape, especially the rubber pieces which are hard to come by these days and it looks to have the original wheels and hub caps.
  8. looks just like my car! (77)
  9. even though you got the nut off you could still get an angle grinder.
  10. EFI tune up, Check for vacuum leaks and poor elecrical conections first, As well as the above stated.
  11. Way back around 1990, My twin brother and I pulled the engine by hand, no engine hoist. I am not saying that it is best but it is possible.
  12. That is exactly were I was thinking of putting the spacer strip. I had not thought up a material yet. So the rubber you used was to change the angle not move the squeegee out from the SS, correct? I sort of like the clips but as cygnus said more would be nice. I wonder where I might find more someplace.
  13. I was thinking of using weather strip adhesive in addition to the clips at least to hold it firm to the SS piece. I am also thinking of putting a long strip of material between the stiffener and SS as a spacer to change the angle a tad. perhaps one day I will get the ones from BD but I have read mixed reviews on those also. Yes it would be nice if someone had a picture of them.
  14. I got mine in the mail today. I have installed one side and I am not really pleased. It does seal up to the glass well but in on area it does not seal to the SS trim piece. I may rethink my installation technique for the other side. It just is not quite the correct profile, sort of like a stock molding that just happened to sort of fit. It does not extend over the SS peice very much and sits low on the door glass.
  15. It looks so cramped not even the dog wants to sit back there.
  16. There you go. And it has mud flaps!!!! Really though that looks like an ok start. (sorry about the mud flap flap).
  17. $500 seams about right. The interior needs work also. I got my car for $300 knowing that it would be a project car. After spending probably $2,000 and doing all of the work myself except the front end alignment, it is now my daily driver after 3 years. Also it was more complete than that car. Keep looking you will find the right Z eventually

I have a ZX dizzy on my 77, runs just fine. Are you sure you have the firing order correct? perhaps a picture could help. Edit: I posted 1 second to late. I recall another member that had his dizzy put in 180 off about a year ago.
  21. I really don't know. But considering that you do not need to change the oil very often are you really saving that much money?
  22. So when you come up to Seattle play at the Neptune theater (our newest acquisition)
  23. Try Bauhaus I have seen them twice, first time they played at the theatre I work at. Never seen the Cure (not a big fan), but alot of my friends are/were back in the day. Edit: sh!t I just saw your Cure cover. Sorry no offence. Actually youre bands pretty good.
  24. I will also add that I have used Tabco panels on my car, they are not bad but do require a lot of additional work after welding. I still had to go to the hammer and dolly, a little grinding plus a thin skim coat of filler. So after all of that I would use the rust free part.
