That might work. Not. My problem is that the car has new paint, new interior including a new dashboard. It is essentially a new looking Datsun Z with a track car suspension and warmed up engine. If I turned her loose in a parking lot I would need Propofol and Versed (anesthesia and sedation drugs) instead of coffee and a book... I remember teaching her to drive. She drove right through a bus shelter with me screaming "STOP - STOP - STOP!" Once she had killed the shelter, she stopped and got out and I drove home. :paranoid: Teaching her to drive a manual transmission was the plan and she was good with that until one of you guys mentioned converting it to an automatic at one of my Reunion events. Then she turned to me and said, "you can do that?" and there has never been any doubt in her mind since then that this is the plan. :ogre:

We all had such a great time yesterday, let's do it all again! The October Sacramento Z Car Reunion will be Saturday, October 23rd - 9am to noonish.. The location is the usual, Family Donuts and Deli - 9045 Fair Oaks Blvd. at the corner of Fair Oaks Blvd. and San Juan Avenue. Let's get the gang together!!!

We have a new record for distance as well... Two guys from Minnesota were in town separately and without knowing about each other and they both showed up... I captured Bill Madamba's spirit perfectly in this photo. Bill, laughing, loving, and living life every day! What a guy! That is him facing right.

I think this is '50's or '60's and not Datsun but it serves as a reminder to keep your safety equipment serviceable... YIKES!!!

No... You just will not have a tach. You can run a line from the tach output on the one end of the MSD box and you will have tach. By the way, I have a tach adapter I didn't use when I installed mine. Bought it, but never hooked it up. Not sure it is right for the Z though, I bought it for a 914.

Just about every Porsche 914 in Southern California had the factory alloy wheels taken off and a set of these "Western Alloy Wheels" put on. Then came the upcharge for the alloy wheels. They are heavy. The ones on my car were 15" X 5.5". Did I mention that they were heavy?
