Here are a bunch of photos, I am very happy with the car. Ron: the one photo shows why I could you sell the spare tire tub I had. Notice the wire holder on the motor mount, grease cup on steering rack, early alt, very clean frame rail Dan

Jonneyrock: thanks for the vote of confidence. I am one of those that has in the past let my passion cloud my judgment when buying a Z. I have boxes full of parts from a couple of cars I have bought that I convinced myself would only take a little work to fix and they have ended up being crushed. It would be more correct to say I have owned multiple Z's. I had a hard look at this one and thought it over for a while before I bought it. I am almost done a turnaround at work and am planning on picking it up on Friday. I promise lots of photos when it is home. Bigoak: you are correct, it only takes one winter for a windshield to look like its been through a sandblaster. Man I'm going to miss your bro as a flame, really enjoyed his style on and off the ice. So, I kept up a conversation with the seller of the car and went to look at it. Here is a photo of what we in Alberta call a little rust. The rest of the car is in unbelievable condition. The rails/ front looks like it is just out of the show room. There was so much that was good about the car it greatly out weighed the "little rust", so I bought it. :stupid:I can not get it until after the weekend and will post photos once it is home.

You could get one of these shipped into Canada and I could deliver it to you. http://www.terra2imports.ca/nissan/skyline/

i got the same e-mail, I hope he keeps it to restore. Possible the amount of interest in it caused him to rethink the asking price.

OK, none of you are helping. I needed everyone to tell me not to buy it. With one stripped down in the garage, a parts car in the back. 4 motors and boxes of parts filling up the basement I am sure what I really need is drag home another car. Having said that I asked the seller for more photos and hope to have a look at it soon. Dan

There is a 1970 with a VIN of 06513 for sale nearby. Can anyone tell me if the carb set up is stock for this early of a car. As you can see by the photo there is no smog parts on it. It looks like a euro style balance tube. Was this standard for an early car in Canada? The owner says it has "very little rust" and wants $1250 for it. Dan

Lephosto: Remember to remove the fuse and read the amps across the two fuse holders, if you leave the fuse in there will be no amp reading, as well it looks like the third and fifth fuses on the right side are blowen, if you get a 12V reading across a fuse it is bad. Dan

Stephen: check this one, at today rate is is just over 22,000 US and around 73000 miles( no idea if this is a good deal just the only one that I have seen around here). Looks like it is a US car so no problem bringing it back home Dan http://reddeer.kijiji.ca/f-gto-ls2-Classifieds-W0QQKeywordZgtoQ20ls2

Mike: The tanks look great, I just finished media blasting the outside of my tank today and planned on POR for the outside. The inside looks new with no rust anywhere and I was going to leave it as is but after seeing what a great job the tank sealer does I think I will do the same. Dan

Yes it is, I always wondered why there were markings that can only be seen if you look on a angle. I took a photo of my speedo. Sorry for the quality. The marks are at 50, 65, 100 and 130 mph with the very small numbers hidden fully under the bezel of 80,100,160 and 200 kph. Is the 260 different?
  17. Ron: OK I will start I have ordered a four sets of door panels from the local dealer here in Red Deer and they have all come from Calgary. I think there is a parts depot in Calgary, but I am not sure (when ever the parts person checks the computer he says that there are xx sets in Calgary and I assume that he means at the warehouse). I will ask this question next time I am at the parts counter. As Ron stated there is no PST in Alberta so the only tax is the 5% GST. I am unable to get a club discount here. Price per set was $397 including GST.

Nice work, when I had my speedo apart to clean it I noticed that it had a metric scale on the outside of the dial, which is hidden by the bezel when it is put back together. It only has makings at 80,100,140,180 (this is a guess as am going by memory). Dan
  19. I called the local dealer today and he shows none in stock in Canada and the list is $1767.00 cdn. He seemed to think because it still comes up as a valid part number that it could be special ordered from Japan. Dan
  20. Martin: If you have no luck in Spokane, and you are still limping home when you pass Red Deer let me know and we can pull a couple off one of the spare motors I have. Dan

Does anyone know what brand of springs these are? The specs are : Length 12 7/8 thickness 0.440 12 3/4 0.440 12 3/8 0.461 12 3/8 0.461 I bought them in 84 and were never put on a car. The invoice just says "4 springs". There are no markings anywhere on them. And for all of you who are already driving this year, yes the photo was taken today.

So I was down at the local dealer this weekend checking out the 370Z. I have to say that I like the looks of it. The way things work I should be able to afford a 2009 in 2045 when it is a 36 year old car just like the one I have now.

John: I just checked with my local dealer and there were 10 sets in Calgary today, so I bought 2 sets, one for myself and another set for anyone who wants them. The dealer here does not offer any club discount so I paid 377.38 plus 18.87 tax for a total of 396.25 cnd. or 324.52 us for a set. They will be delivered on Wed. I will PM you as well. Dan

So I agree that the body of this light is for a market that requires a separate bulb for the parking light, but everything I read points to each having a different color bulb and a clear lens. Why would this light have two bulbs and a amber lens so both are the same color? Dan
