  1. They all appear to be the same plug, priced identically. I don't think it matters at all.

Ditto. Disassemble the unit. You will be quite surprised at all the "crap" you'll find, e.g. rust, mineral deposits, grime, gummy stuff. Clean it out and use the lubes Esprist suggested.
  3. Ron, how is Fred doing? Frank

ACE Hardware has one of the largest selection of screws, nuts, bolts of automotive sizes. I'd look there first.

Step #1, get a FSM. Start reading. Take pictures of existing set-up before you start rearranging stuff. Ask questions and use our search function....

I ran the 5-slot 14" aluminum wheels for a long time and recently upgraded to Konig Rewind 16s. I've never been happier. Steering effort is a bit more, but not overly much. The look is great and handling seems to have improved a bit. I'd go with the 16s as tire selection is greater. Good luck in your quest.

You might check with Ralph Reber.... eBay thezconnection... He's got a lot of that sort of stuff.
  8. I'm up for a Kemah run. How 'bout the rest of you in H-town??
  9. Don't just dump the fluids, FLUSH every system thoroughly. The fuel system is especially critical for drivability issues.
  10. Do all this with a cool/cold engine. Dave had a typo.... TAPE the brake fluid caps.....
  11. I'd think you could get it rewelded for about $20 - $40 here in Houston. Can't speak for the "city by the bay."

Based on what you said, Mikey, you've got one HELLUVA deal. 3 Datsuns, spares out the gazoo for 3.5 large is a good deal. Get the trailer, too, if you got the cash.
  13. Yoshi... Take the broken part to a local welding shop. They will be able to fix it up for just a few bucks.... and it will stay fixed. JB Weld isn't designed for structural use, so don't use it for that purpose.

Steve, if you strike-out with Motor-Head, give Awesome Z a call.

JEFF! I've done the mental gymnastics on how you fit all that into 24 x 24. I can't make it work! Can you post a sketch of how you cram all those vehicles into that space?

How recent are the struts? Worn rears can provide a bit of instability....

I picked up a Bosch coil at O'Reilly Auto Parts a couple of years ago. Works fine...
  18. Nix on double postings. We saw your first one.

Either will go in nicely. The difference between the two is the gear ratios. The 280Z 5-speed is more street friendly with a wide-ratio set-up. The ZX 5-speed is a close-ratio box with a shorter 1st gear and numerically lower 5th gear.
  20. I'm sure you're correct, Mike. My '70 has PM quarter insignia and the rear vents WERE PM but got broken and are now plastic.

Only a minor amount given the cars are in equal condition.

Except possibly for turbos, an L28 is an L28.
  23. Ditto what Jeff G 78 said. It's too far gone.

Hi, Danny. Your car looks pretty decent. I'd lose the red lug nuts, though.
