  1. Does Mad mike have an account here or an emaill address we can send regards to? thxZ
  2. Some bad news.... Mad Mike was hit by a drunken driver on the way home in Tennessee. Mike & his wife got banged up a bit but are OK....his Z did not fare too well! His Z had a rare Nismo bumper too!
  3. Photos are in! You can start browsing the photos online and pick the ones you want to print. Not All the photos are there, but it looks like a bunch are. Link to online photos thxZ
  4. Check out this place: http://www.gastankrenu.com/
  5. TomoHawk posted a topic in Racing
I saw a few people carrying full-faced helmets at the ZCON driver's meeting at the hotel, and they seem to look smaller than my open-face helmet. Is that about right? Maybe they just had smaller size helmets (Mine is XL.) I need to sit low while driving autocross, because I was hitting the headliner. thxZ
  6. Jeff- If there's a regional meet in the area, then I'll put the word out. It's always on Fri-Sun, with the car show on Saturday. The lasttime we had it in Akron. thxZ
  7. I'm trying to digest all the literature in the goodie bag, sort the stuff, and re-assemble my cars, so it will take me a few days before I can straighten out what all happened during the week. A layover day mid-week would have been nice to just hang out with people and recharge from the late nites & 5am revellies. But for now, I"ll say it was a blast. Will- You knew I was there (somewhere) so all you had to do was stop somebody in the blue team shirt & say "where's Tom?" But at least you did run into me eventually. Chris- I did put on a TomoHawk sticker on my name badge Friday morning, but I got into trouble and had to remove it. :disappoin I finally figured out something that didn't go as planned: We wanted a full-size Nissan vehicle for Yoichi-san to transport the dignitaries to & from the Hotel & airport, but the rental car agencies 'can't guarantee make & model.' thxZ
  8. It was a blast. I don't tink I would say the weather on Tuesday (car show day) was horrible, but it is the kind of thing that will keep people talking about it for a while. And the ironic thing is that the weather yesterday & today ( Friday & Saturday) would have been perfect for the convention and sightseeing- except for the FL and TX people! I recently put a lot of effort & sone money into the windscreen wiper system, and I'm glad I did. Otherwise I would've been grounded to driving only during the day, on the nicer days. I don't think there is anything that you could say was bad, or needed improvement, like if the registration system was being consistently botched (which it wasn't) but we have already discussed a few things we'd do a little differently in retrospect. Next time- I'd like to win the MegaLotto first. Then we'd hire everything out to some pros and the convention would be totally free, including lodging, for everyone that signs up! thxZ
  9. The photographs can be viewed online at billgerberphotography and you can order enlargements there online. Give him a few days to go through the thousands of photos taken, to sort and upload. You can also get the DVD (I believe there are about 4000 or 5000 photos on it) when it becomes available through the clevelandrockZ.com website, IIRC. Give that a few days too; the people putting on the show need to catch up on sleep, kids and personal/business stuff. I'll try to post a link to the DVD ordering stuff when it's available. thxZ! to everybody that attended, even those that were there only for the car show... If you left early, you did miss all the rest of things, but O- L... Let's see if the Texas crew can meet the challenge next year... thxZ
  10. I didn't want to say what happened... It was probably enough hurt already.
  11. I just tave up detailing unless it isn't going to rain. FYI, With two days to go, I found out that the DVD forthis convention has 4000 pictures on it- so far. BTW, it hasn't rained today ( Wednesday.) Mid-Ohio was great- except for 1 guy. thxZ
  12. It was a pleasure meeting you and the others (too many to remember!) and to see some nice cars. IMO, the people that really do make an event successful is the people that attend. Wthout those people, no amount of planning, sponsors, and good for & music can do it. (not Tomo- I just look like him. )
  13. the photographers are constantly taking photos during the day, as well as the more formal photos of the cars for print & purchase. I keep my camera with me to cover things and especially what you don't see (officially.) I believe that there will be a DVD for sale through the convention website (after the convention), and the photographers will have the photos for sale through their own means. thxZ
  14. Yeah, apparently they change the internet codes on Sundays, so don't forget to get the new code to continue your service. I've been there since Friday! We have been in a closed room assembling things, and today (Saturday) We were setting up the registration & "Z-store" room. I will be there early Sunday & all week, except for the speed events. If you can, park in the spaces along the street, so the ordinary people will stop parking there, and we can take over that good area. Pass the word... thxZ
  15. Will- the WiFi internet is confirmed free with your room.
  16. I'll bring up the WiFi issue today when I see the others. Also, We were planning on people arriving Sunday ... Don't forget your best 'sock-hop' getup for the Mad-Mike party... Rock 'N' Roll!!
  17. I prefer to call the event the Annual International convention, or ZCON. I also prefer to think of it as the north coast... Maybe you could hook up wity geezer? He's a Canuck from ONT. thxZ
  18. I'll be looking forward to meeting you all, and don't forget plenty of cash for the souvenirs!
  19. zhead- I think it's the samething, and we locals call it the Berea Fairgrounds because it's in Berea, OH. You can always heck the ClevelandrockZ.com web site to see what's on the schedule, on what day & time. thxZ
  20. In case you are wondering, here is a partiallist of souvenir stuff that will be available: Hats long-sleeved shirts Sweatshirts AUTOGRAPHED Mr. K sweaters (limited edition) Hot wheels... Other Z toys Flashing guitar pins Z products (from sponsors) Banners / flags... thxZ
  21. I just have a few small things to spiff up & reinstall. I should be ready for the conbvention and/or the car show Tuesday. Either way, I still have my city car all gassed up for the week... See you at ZCON!! thxZ
  22. What's you goal or reason for removing the emmissions equipment? You should probably consider that your engine might run worse without those parts. Otherwise, you'll need to figure out how to retune the engine properly with the parts off. FFT...
  23. On a 280Z, the ground connection is under the steering column, and is completed by the headlamp switch. In fact, the power for the headlamps goes through the headlamp switch twice; once from the battery/fuselink to the fusebox, and second is the ground leg for the lamps. The turn signal dimmer switch also has one that controls the high beam The round connectors inside the engine bay have 3 round pins- one is the switched power from the battery, and the other two smaller pins are for the low & high beams. On the blade connections on the lamps themselves, you may use a very light smear of dielectric grease to slow the corrosion, but it'll take another 20 years maybe before they get really bad and need servicing again. Also pay attention to how the back of the lamp bowl seals to the headlamp block, and how well the inner-fender liner protects all that stuff. HTH
  24. According to his (the_cafe) profile, he's got a 280Z, so Dave's upgrade won't help him. BTW- the Painless wiring stuff really is good, but only if you are wiring a car from scratch, like if you were assembling some kind of kit car. the_cafe- Are you sure the headlamps are dim? Did you clean the lamp faces? Dirt scatters light. Or maybe you're used to driving with the ultra-bright newer headlamps. Driving a zed isn't like a newer car, and certain things need to be accepted by the modern driver.
  25. I can agree with Mr. Blake, that cleaning the connections on a 280Z for the lights improves them significantly. I maintain them annually, and I have plenty of light.
