The State of Things....
WoW that look nice Bro! Now maybe if you go with the Tinted Green Glass... Jus Joking, but I think a similar shade (maybe like crayon green) Green Stripe would be nice too. Try that out on your pic see if you like. Oh yeah, you going with old style rims or New School?

If you build it, they will die.
Good Question, The Green 240Z was first restored to the point it needed to be before the offshoot of the SR20 and other mods. The Same owner previoulsy had a Red 240Z which he took a long time to restore to stock condition straight up, only to have it stollen and never found not long after completing it. So when he bought the Green one he decided not to go the Resto way but to instead have some fun with this time. By stock "looking" I mean the dash didn't look out of place. Everything was proportionately correct with the rest of the interrior down to the shifter knob location which was needed to be moved 3 inches back with the Skyline tranny. The curves and everything about it just Flowed Nicely. Of course though the SR20 was outa place, 10 year old engine/30 year old car, but the fun factor though... I got a feeling Ian's Black and Yellow is going to be a Tight Top Contender when he's finished. ~Z~

Don't Trip there Ian your on the right path, So avoiding another Left Field thread here, I seen those S13 dash conversions before in a Magizine about a year ago in a newly restored Green 240Z sporting a SR20 Engine. And I admit as you say Ian it did look CLEAN. Absolutely stock looking. Whats the Wieght balance ratio going to be with your 1JZ, are you going for 50/50? I don't know if Zs-ondabrain mind that much besides for the need for parts he missed out. If I sold Ruby, (Which would never happen), I'd expected the new owner to do some tinkering but as long as they did it right and didn't gut her for use in a crash derby Will MSA's quick steering knuckles work? They're about $145 but will that also mean the front tire clearnce will be tighter at full lock? ~Z~

looking for a date?
Yeah, "The naggin stops when the bars slam shut!" Look at these convictions! ROFLROFL armed robbery, grand larceny, auto theft and arson. Tried to kill my old man when he was sleeping but he beat me something bad. Contributing to the delinquency of a minor, kidnapping, taking a minor across states lines for the purpose of prostitution, and murder 1. Sad part is this ones actualy HOT, with a likely story Drug deal went bad, next thing you know, I got hauled off for killing a cop. I'm a good person. And this one has the nerve :dead: I beat up this bitch cop with my bare knuckles and she died so I'm done for life. Lets chat! Who needs The Mall, when you got The Pen. ~Z~

Does anyone know anything about these rims?
Wasn't that adderess "Cheviot" a wheel Manufacture in Aus also? I seen a pair of sick looking rims on Ebay Aus last year and the seller told me they were made by a small company called Chevoit back in the 70's when his dad bought them for his 510 DOTS. ~Z~

Muffler mounting locations?
Are the muffler mounting locations on a 240Z the same as on a 260Z and 280Z? I knoe the diameter of the pipes are diferent but like to know if the mufflers bolt up the same way.

She´s at home
WOW ! Those Opals are NICCCCE ! Nothing but Bling over there, now thats REALLY HOOD You have to PM me or post those install instrutions when you done if you don't mind. I like Willwood brakes and they make a Solid Quality product from what I've read. (Maybe it was all the Clint Eastwood movies I saw as a kid ) Everyone has Brembo's and I sorta can't stand them for that. They're like the Honda's of Brakes ! Perfect timing now I'm having Ruby's engine rebuilt 2 or 3 weeks from now and the shop doing it can also do the disc brake conversion too and Will's would be nice. Since everything far as brakes is concerned need to be replaced anyway, as recommended, the difference in price may actually be cheaper doing the conversion compared to stock Great Job though again man, Silver on Silver.... A dang Hot Wheels Car, thats what you have. (Toys R' Us isle 8) ~Z~

The State of Things....
Thaynx Blake, I wasn't to sure what they did but it was jumping when I left the parking lot. Thought it was me needing to get used to the new clucth, but no matter what I did she kept jumping. It was only 20 miles latter I actually for the first time ever put the clutch pedal to the floor and lifted half an inch off and she didn't jump but even then iot was hit and miss. The old set up only needed about 3 and a half inches worth of pedal travel to fully engage or disengage. Going from neutral to 1st gear was as smooth as an Automatic. I new something was up when I arrived, gave the dude my money, then asked him if he wanted to go for a test drive. He said, "shes ready go right now, you can just drive her off the parking lot." Repeating the question he again replied the same then made a vague response like, "yeah, ok". Upon returning from the office room were he deposited MY cash he again just said, "You can just drive her home now everything works fine. I test drove it myself Blah Blah Blah." Granted there was another customer in line behind me when this occured that he seemed anxious to get to but I was willing to wait. So I instead took my keys knowing if "EVERTHING" wasn't "FINE" I can bring her back under warranty. I'll take her back in and let them adjust the pedal but something tells me to do it myself than have them make mutliples attempts to get it right. Jumpy Clutch, A good way to get pulled over for sure. Thyanx again Blake ~Z~

The State of Things....
Well I finally got back from AATCO and now she's JUMPY ! Is there some sort of "Brake In" Procedure I'm supposed to do to get her from being that way and back to normal. I can't even feather the clutch off the floor without Ruby launching off the line like NHRA. Is that normal or was I just jacked by a bad clutch job? Found out today at Nakatsu's Garage they could've did the clutch for around $600 as opposed to AATCO's $1117.16. I don't know if I got served or what. The warranties still good for 3 months but I should have Nakatsu test drive it first before coming to any conclusions ~OR~ taking old girl back to "Jumpy Transmission". :dead: I see what you mean Blake by race clutchs getting old for street use, barley ran 12 miles and I was already sick at the fact I couldn't get her to make a smooth start. Even 2nd's jumpy. Well at least the E-brake light goes off now... ~Z~

Anyone live in Sacramento???
Nah, I wish but I think I might give it a try this spring. The body work was already done my car when I bought her, (earlier restoration) but rock chips got to her as well as a crack on the hood. I know a couple guys with shop space that might let me use they're shop space and utensils, don't know what they'll charge either way if I do it myself or not. My 1st Buddy in Stocking 'll just charge me for the PPG Paint but I have'nt seen him in a few months. The 2nd guy I know does the paint and body work over at Nakatsu's Garage here in Yuba City, CA. He's my recommendation at least. Nakatsu's Garage 1655 Poole Blvd Yuba City CA 95993-2614 530-751-7860 If you call let him know Isaiah the guy with the Red '77 280Z sent you. He's a nice guy but remember to check out some of his other work first and make sure it's up to your standards as always. He also builds race engines by the way Oh yeah, the Sanchez towyard shop with a bigger facility and longer history I hear does good work also. ~Z~

Anyone live in Sacramento???
Oh I see, Well for paint I know a couple of shops out this way. The tow yard where I get my Z parts from has an entire auto facility and paint/body shop as well. Pretty sure theres others in Sac but I'll check these out for you here and see if they're any good. ~Z~

Who has a set of these?
OK, 4 goods things here... DetroitZ Thaynks I'm glad I posted that info to the guy at the auction and Happier you joined the club, Welcome aboard. Yeah I sense the POWER of that kind of experience, You get nothing but my biggest esteem Any idea if they sold decals there Blake Think those it'd be a nice addition to the fenders? Lastly I found the Mustang II concept car with those rims on YouTube! There are few great concept cars on this vintage 1960's film here from Ford showcasing they're then current concept and show cars at the time. The firts car (The Alegro) I like cause it looks like a cross between the 1st Gen Barracuda and a 240Z. The Red and chrome interior is nice also well as the Domino style foot pedals.
