  1. I just received my door seal kit from S30 World and it's even better than I was expecting. Great attention to detail. I will be using these to replace the aftermarket one piece seals that are on my early 1970, #957. Hopefully this will make it a little easier to close the doors. Here are a few pics for a visual comparison, of the new S30 product and the 55 year old seals removed from my July/70 car, #6521. S30 World seals on the left and my old stuff on the right.
  2. The aftermarket pumps are used from what I’ve read here. My 2 cents are to go back with what the factory designed for the system. You stated earlier you only focused on the hoses themselves. Chances are as @zedhead mentioned it could be a coincidence. I recommend buying a roll of fuel line and run the gauge through the window and monitor as you drive. Either way you will accomplish the test result with an answer and you can reuse the hose elsewhere.
  3. All of my comments were just based on logic, understanding how the system works, and the facts presented. No need for sunspots. Hard to see how you can still have excellent WOT performance if something at the hose from the tank to the pump was not right. Doesn't make sense. I'm going to go with coincidence then. Something else happened at the same time you replaced that hose. Good luck. p.s. the fuel pump and FPR are at the foundation of the Jetronic system. So if you're looking at fuel pressure you're looking at Jetronic.
  4. Done!! Let's hope it doesn't come to that, but if it does, I'm all over it!!
  5. Hmmm... 38psi with the vacuum line pulled off the FPR sounds good. And 30 psi with that line connected is OK too. Are you able to see the fuel pressure gauge WHILE you are driving? I'm curious to see if the 38 drops significantly when there is more than just a "light idle" load on the engine. In other words... Your fuel system may be able to deliver enough fuel AT IDLE and still maintain 38 psi, but the trick is that it takes a really small amount of fuel to maintain idle. I'm thinking that maybe the system can idle fine at 38, but as soon as the fuel delivery requirements get higher (like when you are driving around), the system doesn't have enough compliance to maintain proper pressure under higher demand conditions. And that's a typical symptom of a restriction somewhere. Fuel filter, clogged check valve, something like that.
