LED headlights

And for completeness, I'll re-post the link to the video on changing the headlight housings.

Thanks for posting the video. Viewing time is time well spent! This is an unbelievingly cost-effective upgrade.

@SteveJ You use the Toyota 81110-60P70 rather than the Hella Vision Plus? Is that just because of the price difference since they're both DOT approved.

I used to use Hella housings. However, I noticed that an original headlight was Koito. When I found the Toyota kit used Koito housings, I decided to go that direction. Then it turned out that the Toyota kits were cheaper than getting the Hella housings.

At this point in time, the old-tech 'yellow' incandescent headlights are coming to be viewed as evidence that you're driving a beater. Within the next two or three years, they'll have disappeared from the mainstream automotive landscape. Personally, I find them kind of charming -- just like the Z's low-watt, green-tinged gauge lighting (and the way that E-Type Jags now look kind of tippy on their narrow-track chassis).

I guess it depends on what you want out of your Z. Me? I'm looking for memories.

@SteveJ , thanks again. I installed these tonight. Very impressed with the lights. I was a bit nervous how the flat face would look on the z, as I my brain always thinks convex lens for the car. I like the look. Amp gauge doesnt bug when I turn them on and fuses are nice and cool. Huge improvement from stock!

I think maybe one person has reached out to me concerning a bulb failure, otherwise everyone who has provided me feedback on my suggestion has been very happy with the results.

Any possibility of seeing the "cut line" of these headlights shined on like a garage door at night, both low and high beam? Something like this;

Thanks

Well, my wife's car is blocking the garage door right now, but this is what it looks like inside the garage. There's only about 3 feet between the nose of the car and the tool chest. The cut-off seems pretty good, and I've never been flashed at night when I'm running low beams. The high beams have a nice spread of light.
