I don't remember any other car with a rear filled with lights like this.

The Datsun 280zx had it before the 300zx.. and i guess there where much more cars that had it.

About the originality of the cars on the mugs, there are a lot of different car pictures on google but you asked for originality and i just answered.

For me the Z32 is the most beautiful Z-car. next to the orig. 240Z.. I restored a 280zx because it was my first z car and i fitted better with 6 feet 6 (now 6 feet 4.. )

I picked up the prototype - it came out exactly as designed, so it’s already available in the shop.
You can grab one here:

Patcon Since I got a discount on the base mug for the prototype at the print shop, I’ll pass it on to you. You can use 25% discount code I sent you in a PM.

I’ve also started working on the changes based on Dutchzcarguy feedback; it’s possible that with this body color, the stock lights will look better.

Non of the above would be my answer.. take a look in the original 300zx folder from the dealer. You can find many on the net..

Ok, does anyone else have any opinions? Is this direction better? Because I feel like the interest is weak, I'm worried that my job might be pointless.

From a business perspective the ZX market is small. You can see it here on the CZCC forum. dutchzcarguy is, I think, the only person interested in the ZX. And, no offense to DZCG, the ZX is not as exciting in form as the Z.

In short, I don't think that you'll sell many ZX styled coffee mugs. It's just the way things are. I searched 280ZX forums using Google Search and find that there are none specifically created for the ZX.

I think you’re absolutely right. Of course, this isn’t my only thing - I’m trying to cover all the JDM models I consider important.
But we have to face reality and just keep moving forward.
So I’ll wrap up the update on this project for now; if there’s interest, I have customization options in the store and then I’ll consider submitting it.
Today I picked up a beautiful prototype with a Miata, and I think that will appeal to a much broader market.

But thank you all for your participation and contribution.

My personal thoughts are that what you created is just fine for the market as it stands today. The guy that buys the current version of production is perfectly fine. Most have modified there cars to create a better performance look in my opinion.

Thanks, Yarb - I know the state of the economy isn’t helping right now. I’ve been out of work since April myself - unfortunately I got replaced by AI. So I’m looking for a new direction, and from what I can tell I still need to keep searching a bit - that’s life.

So sorry to hear that. This seems to be the topic of the week at work, we were also discussing AI and how it could be coming for our jobs very soon. I hate the fact that the new large language models can do things so quickly and efficiently. It is marginalizing our talents.
